I'm not really sure. It depends on what you say and who you say it to. I've never verbally insulted a police officer.
Though I did once see on a tv show a young man get arrested for saying "this is how cops get shot" when he wasn't happy about the ticket he was getting.
Here's my question. What happens if you verbally insult a cop on the street in your country? Is that some kind of crime? Because if so, that's the most self serving law ever.
Anybody insulting cops or Barack Obama under Northcom rule could be charged as a terrorist. People have already been charged with terrorism for such things.

It depends on what you say and the police officer you say it to. If you piss off the wrong cop he or she can arrest you for just about anything without the Northcom rule. Raising your voice (yelling) and cursing a police officer can get you an assault charge if you aren't careful.

Insult is not the same as threat. People insult each other on this forum all the time, whereas threats rarely happen. The question is do cops have some sort of protection from insults, which would be preposterous.
