We dont play with the same confidence and sharpness we use in Serie A. We had much more time and space than in most Serie A games this season, yet looked all the worse for it. That, Hanssen, a Chiellini foul and some bad luck (30 shots?!) make for this disssapointing result.

I thought Giovinco and Matri did well, apart from the lack of goals.

I'm afraid we'll lose in Donetsk unless they secure qualification as the top of the group prior to our game. Let's hope Shakhtar gets something out of Chelsea in Stamford Bridge.

A good scenario for us (and a bit realistic) would be:

Juventus - Nordsjælland (JUVE WIN)
Chelsea - Shakhtar (DRAW) :xfinger:

Shakhtar 8 pts
Juventus 6 pts
Chelsea 5 pts

Juventus - Chelsea (JUVE WIN) :xfinger:
Nordsjælland - Shakhtar (SHAKHTAR WIN)

Shakhtar 11 pts
Juventus 9 pts
Chelsea 5 pts

Shakhtar - Juventus (SHAKHTAR WIN)
Chelsea - Nordsjælland (CHELSEA WIN)

Shakhtar 14 pts
Juventus 9 pts
Chelsea 8 pts
What is more likely:

Juventus - Nordsjælland (JUVE WIN)
Chelsea - Shakhtar (Chelsea win) :xfinger:

Chelsea 8 pts
Juventus 6 pts
Shakhtar 5 pts

Juventus - Chelsea (JUVE Draw) :xfinger:
Nordsjælland - Shakhtar (SHAKHTAR WIN)

Chelsea 9 pts
Shakhtar 8 pts
Juventus 7 pts

Shakhtar - Juventus (draw)
Chelsea - Nordsjælland (CHELSEA WIN)

Chelsea 12 pts
Shakhtar 9 pts
Juventus 8 pts

But considering that, all we need is one more win to go through. Two wins out of the three games, will be tough, but quite doable. It wont pan out much differently if Chelsea or Shaktar draw against eachother or once against Nordsjaelland. We need two wins in most scenario's.

Well, if we make it through, we'll do it in a Juve fashion. Did anybody actually think we would secure qualification early? We're going to leave it to the last game and make it through by a hair, in typical italian and juve style. :flag1:
Do you remember our italian stile in our last game in last CL and last game in LE?

The biggest problem we had yesterday was the weak fullbacks. The second problem was Vidal and Marchisio.
Marchisio could not make the difference, but he did not set a foot wrong really. I thought our fullsback were decent enough in attack, always open and kept sending in decent crosses, although a bit miss and hit. Left too much space at the back though. Vidal is out of sorts yeah. I thought the biggest problems was some sloppyness and we left too much space. Should have completely suffocated the Danes.

Having said all that, the loss of points came down to details.

Well that sucked. Last night match put us in a really difficult situation, i wasnt expecting us to struggle so much in europe.

I think we can win our matches against Chelsea and Nordassomthn in Turin, not so confident against Shakhtar.

My dear, this thread contains some of the most laughable, retarted posts possible. Brilliant entertainment though :D

Bah, seen these type of games so many times, you need to score chances at certain times.

I thought they were energetic but pretty mediocre at this level. Their goal was just one of those freekicks, which came about from one of the most brainless fouls I've ever seen.

Pirlo was different class for most of the game. Vidal improved but played 60 mins like he had a stick up his ass. Some of his passing was atrocious. Marchisio huffed and puffed and ended up doing things he's not really supposed to be doing.

As for the strikers, both were lively, and Giovinco made a lot of good moves and created things for himself. But you have to score, simply because goals like theirs can happen. One goal first half or early second half and it's a different game. We also equalised too late to really have a proper go at them. 10 more minutes and they looked like caving in.

As usual, we'll have to do it the hard way.
Odd game that.

For the first half Juve seemed so utterly focused on pressing Nordsjaelland that they forget they had to cover behind the pressing or try to play football themselves.

Juve then played what was, by and large, a perfectly decent second half, but failed to take chances and gave away a stupid freekick.

I don't understand the criticism of the 3-5-2 in this case, as much as I have repeated pointed out its limitations for playing in Europe.

Juve created more than enough chances to win the game comfortably and barely allowed the opposition a chance.

Still, I suppose everyone will jump on whatever long-standing grievance they have, as they always do after a poor result, whether or not it was relevant in this particular game.
Completely agree with Jay & Red.

Thought we'll struggle to win before the gama and that's what happened.

Europe need starts and we don't have any, we lack the firepower, until we acquire a couple of star players, we won't be winning anything in europe.

But he isn't.

Maybe he would have been useful, maybe he wouldn't who knows, the man is quite old to be of any real uses to us besides the "aura". The fact is Del Piero now is as relevant as Bonipert, Scirea or even our beloved Diego. What's the point in saying our whole team is worth shit compared to Del Piero's expirience?
:howler:
