I was trying to say that we can use fullbacks for crossing and use the third CB for something else
I figured Isla could have attacked further up the pitch and made forays in to the box. Then have Lucio support that space.:agree:

Why did we not change to a 4-3-3 sooner. Why did it take so long to react?

How can one blame only a player for the loss?(Giovinco) That's totally nonsense! You lose as a team and Juve did lose as a team. If we blame one player then who does the blaming needs to leave these forum because you can't support a team and outcast a player for their mistake. In that case , I would blame chiellini for his unnecessary foul, that lead to a FK goal, but I am not because 5-6 player on juve were just completely poor. I am more disappointed with Vidal playing he had that awful game with napoli and should of been benched, I don't care how good MVP play, if you stink on the field that game you need to be off.. PIRLO for me was the biggest disappointment, how can a player of his caliber and expertise suck at delivering dead set piece balls. HE was simply bad at taking corners today, should of let giovinco take more. I am made that we never rotate of mid, they were not producing nothing and seem tired. Dammit, why do we have pogba for? His moral must have been through the roof after napoli.
I still can't believe we couldn't put one corner away, the other team had no physical strength nor height, therefore Bendtner should have started.. Last, i am saying screw this dam 3-5-2 it is not working in Europe..

It's not, especially if Shakhtar get a good result in London. It doesn't matter much because we're definitely not good enough and even if we pass the group stage, we're gonna get eliminated very soon. Serie A is fooling us into thinking that we're great. It was obvious vs Shakhtar that we're far from the desired level of football in CL.

Oh, and De Ceglie must leave this team. Chiellini can't get a brain so we must live with his dubious decisions to needlessly foul and kick the ball, but De Ceglie will always be a liability.
Why the hate on DC? This game he was one of the better performers, and on the a better day he might have had 3 or more assists, his corsses were dangeroaus all game.

Oh just on a side not, I hope we realease Gianc as soon as possible, not that guy, has almost 0 talent.

People slating Gio for his lack of finishing? Gio was our CF not our Striker, it was Matri's role to play as a striker, it says a lot for Gio that he was the one to have more chances...

Matri takes up as many different positions as a fucking lamppost, the guy is the most static and predictable striker I have ever seen. He reminds me a lot these days of Amauri. OK maybe no one can ever be as shit as Amauri, but he's not far off...
of course he has the most chances, he fucking never passes the ball when in position, even if there are player in better position. if he is not a striker, than he should fucking stop finishing bc he sucks at it

If there was ever a game that highlighted that we need a striker of any decent quality it was this game. Christ we had enough shots on target to in 4 matches, and scored only one goal. In saying that we were very arrogant going into the game, why change the team? Alessio was awful, left subs WAY too late.

the 3-5-2 has to go, our wing backs let the system down badly and doesn't make it as effective as it should be.

PDC isn't Juve quality, he was awful tonight, easily muscled off the ball, his crossing was crap (apart from one) and makes silly mistakes.

Matri needs to GTFO. How many chances is this guy going to get?

Fucking horrible evening all said and done.

Right now we have made things very tough on us. The teams that qualify will be decided by the Danes' ability to steal another point. If they cld hold shakhtar or Chelsea, we have a very big chance. If not, we absolutely need to get 7 points. In any case, I'm not that upset. If we beat the Danes, and are unable to beat Chelsea or shakhtar, then we have no business in the champions league.

You get unlucky once or twice. If we dont end up making it; then we just didn't deserve it and marotta needs to wake the fuck up.

I'm still very optimistic. We still have a good chance of qualifying.

Shaktar 7pts
Chelsea 4pts
Juventus 3pts
NJD 1pt

We can do it.
Assuming that everyone beats the Danes till the end (we might actually not beat them even in Turin), then we MUST beat Chelsea. If Chelsea beats Shakhtar, then we will have to win all our matches. If Chelsea won't beat Shakhtar, then we will need a draw in Donezk. Really tough.

There is another scenario in which Shakhtar beats Chelsea and Nordsjaelland and they secure the top even before the last round. In that case a draw vs Chelsea will still keep us in the game, but then we will need to win in Ukraine.

3 Points, the same equivalent of winning nordsaelland and losing against chelsea and shaktar or whichever combination we can think of. Its disappointing, FFS this is the competition we have been wanting to play in for many many years and now we put ourselves in a very difficult position. Whats the chances of us pulling 6 Draws in all our matches? Home or Away, ah what the hell lets give credit to the opposition!

buffon - nothing much to do, did get a touch on laudrup's FK but that was a beauty so..
chiellini - I blame him more than DC for the goal, and he put in a shoddy performance
bonucci - standard game, wasnt that tested defensively, couple of inaccurate long balls
lucio - neither here nor there, not terrible but not good
isla - woeful crosses in the second half but made up for it to set up vuci's goal and got better therein
marchisio - was ok, not at his best
vidal - clearly suffering from some dip in form or something of the sort. I love the man a lot, but if this continues we may need to bench and give him the chance to recuperate
pirlo - kingly as always
DC - a lot of people complained about him... but given all of our wing backs he's the only one that puts in remotely decent crosses, and has good pace
giovinco - IMO our best player other than vuci and pirlo, created a lot of chances from nothing and having a clueless matri around. definitely lacking in finishing etc, but created a lot
matri - bench, worst finisher at the mo.
vucinic - time to get back in the first 11, better than all our forwards combined
bendtner - i liked his movements and with more playing time I think he can be useful
giaccherini - ineffective
conte/alessio - second game running in which Juventus approached the match either overly confident or too cautious or not motivated enough to give a fuck.

Yes SerieA is a current joke and so are the coaches. Only Prandelli know anything about modern football and he got an average-ish team to EC final. We didn't even chase an AM because of these tactics.
