People screaming out about our forwards need to look at our midfield first, Marchisio and Pirlo

Nicholas and JCK are spot on in their reviews. Sadly, they were just too good for us, and we have some problems to solve... not only the usual "we need a top forward to win the CL". Just no.
For starters... if we are going to play this formation, we need top notch offensive wingers who can create and press the enemy defence the whole game, to keep them at their toes. Look at our wingers.,. Pado and asamoah are decent whend efending... but offensively they all know is to cross cross cross and cross again without any good gameplan or idea, and on top of it all.. we never ever score from crosses. Isla should return from where he came and Peluso is not an offensive winger. Bayern just overpopulated and pressed the mid line of the field and thats it. Bye bye Juventus. We are just too one dimensinal and rely TOO MUCH on Pirlo.
Im proud of what we did,, hell i am... but this last 2 games practically destoyed everything... the way we were defeated is shameful and we showed nothing apart from some good moves in this second leg. We were skinned.
Conte on top of it all is utterly stubborn and one dimensional. I dont know how we will fix this particular issue.
Definitely 2 striker need to go out... we can keep vucinic... all the rest should be judged and evaluated.

The Celtic tie actually raised some doubts, they dominated possession over both legs.
A sheet team like that dominating possession is never a good sign. I heard the explanations of tactics after scoring early (which makes one afraid that Conte is becoming Capello like), but I never really bought into it. That's why I was sure we couldn't match it against Bayern in an open game before the first leg and said so at the time.

I recall saying before the first leg that we can't afford to chase the game otherwise Bayern will pick us off at ease. So going behind in the first 25 seconds really didn't help.
There are not enough very good players on the ball and in possession for us, meaning that we were only going to struggle if we were behind to a team like Bayern. They had 8/9 players all very good and comfortable on the ball as well as real attacking threats up front meaning that we couldn't overcommit and press high. We have about 4/5 players who look fairly accomplished in possession (Pirlo, Bonucci, Vucinic, Vidal, Pogba give or take) and at this level in today's modern game that is not enough.
So going behind meant we couldn't do a Chelsea (Last Year CL), sit deep, soak pressure and stay in the game while hoping for a lucky break or a counter which I think looked to be Conte's game plan.
This will hurt the players and the fans due to the apparent gulf in quality but as Conte said it is a building process and although we have quickly scaled to the top of the Serie A, we are still behind the likes Bayern, Barca and Real at the moment.
Kudos to the fans in the stadium, although the last 6 years haven't been the greatest for the club, as a collective we are not used to used to having our asses handed to us but they understood we are in a building process and that this type of defeat isn't the same as the one against Liverpool and Arsenal in 2005 and 2006, where we did have the right to be angry and expect more.

I'm trying to see objectively here, and I thought the team was playing well in the early minutes... didn't really understand when it happen exactly but things starting to crumble near the end of the first half. If only Bayern weren't leading such a comfortable 2-0 lead, we could've a better match tonight.

People need to stop banging on about how bad Pirlo was and why Milan got rid of him. He has helped us a lot in the league, no doubt about it. On the contrary, as someone said above, we do need to work on life post Pirlo and also not be so dependent on him. This would include hopefully buying a good SS as another creative outlet
