That's besides the point, Jay.

Isla is the better known & more expensive player. So he should obviously play.
Cute. Context is a bitch isn't it? We know what we are going to get with Padoin, and that is absolutely nothing going forward. Isla is a risk, but on his day he is far superior, and that is inarguable. This is a game which necessitates risk, as we are 2-0 down and on our way out. Isla might surprise, so let's give him a shot.

I'm really hoping for 2 goals with none conceded & penalties. Unless we play our best game under Conte, there's no way we're putting 3-4 goals past Bayern. Even then, maybe not.

It fucking shits me that the media says who are penalty takers are going to be (basically in order of preference), I wish they would just shut the fuck up about such things.

we have to get that far first

I don't know whats wrong with me but I really honestly think we will do this, be will play them off the pitch it will be demolition, I don't know why I think that but I have this feeling

also wouldn't pirlo be second penalty taker

Honestly I dont want to go to Penalties because what if we play an amazing game and we end up having nothing to show for that? Also Buffon isnt the greatest when it comes to penalty shots

Well, that's quite optimistic from our side.

There's only a fine line between delusional & optimistic.

The way I see it, chances of conceding a goal are (right now) higher with Isla on the pitch than with Padoin on the pitch. Taking risks, going forward, blablabla. That's all fine & dandy, but it gets you nowhere if you concede.

As it stands we have about a 1% chance of qualifying. If our plan is to attack & take risks from the start, we'll have no chance at all. I don't think I'm the only one who's aware that we are extremely vulnerable on the break when committing players forward, especially when the other team has some pace & quality. And, I think, we're all aware of Bayern's strengths.

When you said Padoin was going to be destroyed that suggests defensively. Isla would be the braver choice, simply because he is weaker in that respect and stronger going forward.

This is true, but you never know how Bayern perceive information like this. It could create a bit of fear in their heads seeing a team preparing with confidence. Could work either way really. We'll know more about that tomorrow :D
