No it couldn't. They could if they had removed the ice much faster, but that would have also ended up in the game having to stop every couple of minutes as snow started falling again afterwards.

That was before the snow started coming down in an increased manner. I was saying the same yesterday, and after about 30 minutes from when the match was stopped, it became clear why it had to be stopped. Players were complaining that they couldn't see and were hurting their eyes too.
