Undersoil system was on for two weeks. It does not melt the snow. It's main function is keeping grass alive.

I know that, it's to prevent the soil freezing, which will in turn freeze the grass and kill it from the inside out. All very scientific I'm sure.

There are systems available which can melt snow, but I doubt they would be suitable or used for 99% of cases in Istanbul, as they create flooding.

Almost never in December. The thing postponed the match was health issue. It was ice raining from the sky. Lines have been made visible, match could have been played in that pitch.
