Weah’s (and Yildiz) positioning was frustrating for me… what were his instructions… he was so often not-in-the-box or level with defenders ‘shoulders’ when there was a chance to play the ball in the box… I guess McKennie’s injured otherwise he made more sense as he attacks the box and could help in midfield

Are we the most boring team in Europe?

I get the injuries, but other than the RB Leipzig game (who have a grand total of 0 points in the UCL), I can't remember the last time we took calculated risks.

I want to see some fucking balls regardless of who is on the pitch. We play like cucks.

Yet another meh game, but not a terrible result.
I'm not sure what Motta is trying to do, though. We clearly want the ball, but at the same time we don't really want to do anything with it. I understand the opponent can't score if they don't have the ball, but we end up being extremely predictable. No wonder we draw most matches.

Di Gregorio 6 - There was that one great save, but he continues to look very insecure. And he's obviously not the main reason we didn't concede. Locatelli & the ref are. Disallowing the goal was the correct call imo, but he probably wouldn't have gotten the ball anyway.
Savona 6 - Kept it simple, as usual. Very reliable player.
Kalulu 5,5 - Okay-ish. But dumb as a rock.
Gatti 7 - I saw a few minor mistakes, otherwise great.
Cambiaso 6 - Decent enough, but nothing special.
Thuram 6,5 - Quite good. Always availabe, strong enough physically & kept his cool when outnumbered.
Locatelli 7 - MOM. The unsung hero of our current team. If you want to know why we don't concede a lot of goals, look no further than him (& Gatti).
Conceicao 6 - Yeah, our only attacking threat. All flash, no end product. If he knew when to pass and/or when to shoot, he'd be unstoppable.
Koopmeiners 5 - Still had the flu, I assume?
Yildiz 5 - Infected by Koopmeiners, I assume?
Weah 5,5 - He did look lively, but not very dangerous most of the time.

Danilo 5,5 - Could have been worse.
Fagioli - Zero awareness
Mbangula

Their CBs got a day off because they don't have to deal with Vlahovic's movement, his lay offs, or him as a target man. To pull off what Spain does, you need that precise passing, the sudden burst of speed, and that intelligent movement and we can't do that. Next thing is to look to the midfield to provide the extra threat and Poopminers is so underwhelming.

Motta gets criticism, but some players make it impossible for him. Locatelli and Thuram are good enough that I don't care about Luiz ever starting, having Nico moves Yildiz to the middle and even a SS or playmaker instead of Poopminers and then we might get somewhere. Even Mbangula there will move Yildiz to the middle.

Even if we had Milik, I think we would've won this, Villa were scared all evening.

Mbangula had that one great run into the box with no end product. Brilliance followed by predictable down the cliff end product.

If we won't use Douglas Luiz, just really hope there are some gentlement agreement Villa will take him back for 51m - (iling + barranechea price)

We help them big time in those PSA rules

At least we will have money to spend for CB and ST
