Well deserved by Real. Thought they were excellent individually and as a team.

Who'd have thought an Italian manager could win beating 2 German coaches and Pep along the way? Villarreal overachieved to the semi playing in a similar style too, albeit with less quality.

They did though. Real played dino soccer against PSG, Chelsea and City as well.
While I agree thiz wasn’t their best season performance wise, let’s see. 3 overall goals against PSG, 5 against Chelsea and 6 against City. You’re crazy if you think we’d score those numbers against those teams.

We couldn’t even score more than a 2 goal difference all season long. The comparison is ridiculous.

Their keeper set the record for most saves in a UCL campaign and took multiple goals off Liverpool this evening. In the end, that was the difference, not the coaches, players, dinosaurs, etc.

You’re telling me a team with Benzema, Modric, Vinicius etc does better than a team with Kean, Rabiot and Berna?

Well colour me surprised.

I'm not claiming that they don't have crazy quality in mid and up top to change games. It's actually pretty amazing how clinical they were during this CL campaign. As you pointed out they're not some defensively super solid team either even though they do sit deep for majority of their games against these other top quality teams.

Real Madrid won the competition by playing balanced football. They were defensively astute when they needed to be, they were well as equally able to shift a gear in attack when they needed to do so.

People saying they parked their way to the CL or played 'dino football' are just desperately trying to suit their narrative.
