What all these teams had in common was some very agile and physically strong players that could run for days. Combined with excellent team players and the way they were set up.

What I especially liked about our 2012-13 team was the way Jupp made us good in possession when we had to dominate a game, but at the same time he let Barca had the big majority of the ball, instead we would just hit them on the counter, kill them with our overwhelming physicality/stamina and overlaps. The overlaps was exactly what they couldn't handle.
That Bayern was unbeaten machine.. did not see a football team like that

I can't say who deserves the ballon d'or for this season, they will give it to Benzema probably but when you know that in 15/16 Suarez didn't make the top 3  stupid retarded award that wasn't given to Sneijder/spanish player in 2010, Ribery in 2013, Suarez in 2016, Lewandowski in 2020 fro no reason.

Makes me wonder... Reason why there's so many defensive mistakes these days, is it something we just think/imagine or is it real? A little like we always remember how much snow there was in a winther back in the old days compared to now lol.

Anyway, it might also have to do with the game being so fast paced like never before. That way players won't have much time to react or get into positions.
More emphasis on the physical aspect rather than intellectual one.

Any coach in the world 2-0 up against Real would pull back, defend deep and play counter-attacking football except Pep. Nothing but respect for Pep. And City is not a plastic club, at least their players give 100%, it's amazing how much they run.
City is not a plastic club? :howler:

You sound like the Kuwaiti goat fuckers BEIN Sports interviewed before the game.

Clubs like City, PSG and Chelski are the epitome of what's wrong with modern football. Fuck them all, nouveau riche historically insignificant little shits.

Still funny that they will give him golden ball but when Suarez has had unbelievable numbers in 2015? Nobody gave a single fuck
It's not just about the numbers tho. Benzema has literally dragged Madrid to the semis and is currently keeping them alive with another brace.

And no way was Suarez winning the BO in a year where Ronaldo won the CL and the euros.

Add Robben for 2010
And Ronaldo/Iniesta in 2012

Edit: 2016 was Ronaldos, and Griezmann should be up there. Balon dor is for calendar year (this will be the first for a season) and Suarez in 2016 had 48 goals and 25 assists for barca and 3 goals 6 assists for Uruguay. But it was the year of the Euro and Copa America (which he missed), but they won La Liga and Copa del Rey. I dont remember if there was someone else extraordinary that year, but with Messi reaching Copa America final, i think he edges out Suarez for top 3. Maybe there is more players who you can put above Messi, i dont remember tbh

Suarez 2016 was not remotely comparable to the other two.

2016 was the year when Ronaldo scored a historic 16 goals in 12 games in a CL-winning campaign and topped it off with winning the Euros in the summer. There is no planet where any other player would've gotten the award that year.

Yes check my edit. Ronaldo was clear winner, Griezmann number 2.
2010 Robben won double in Germany (always scoring the most decisive games) and carried them to CL final. Then at the WC scored twice in the knockouts. If he scored that 1v1 againat Spain, hed definitely be it. You can argue for Sneijder too, Xavi/Iniesta, or Messi for individual accomplishments. But i felt it should go to Robben.

2012 Real won La Liga (barca won nothing), CL semifinal whwre they exited on PKs. And Portugal reached Euro semis, where they exited on PK against the best team in the world. Either Ronaldo, or someone from that Spain again. Chelsea didnt have a extraordinary man that year, it was a team effort. And the Germans from Bayern didnt have great enough individual years either

Again, read:
Balon dor is for calendar year
Major tournaments are always important
Suarez played with a teammate who reached a Copa America final, while he missed it
