If only Atletico scored at least one more goal

I don’t think they have it in them to hold out Liverpool again, especially away from home. Pool still favourites for me.

Haaland :tuttosport: That second goal was stupendous.

That's irrelevant. Haland didn't want Juve. Paratici tried his best.
It's a missed opportunity, but meh. Midfield is more of a concern and we already have Ronaldo.

Last superteam in CL was 2015 MSN Barca, since then only frauds
Zidane's Real won it 3 times in a row. Hardly a fraud.
I think we're simply entering a new era now that the Messi-Ronaldo era is coming to an end.

Actually, now that they have one goal, they might actually try to get an away goal in Liverpool.
With us, they basically thought they were safe with defending a 2-0 lead and it horribly backfired.
Victimpool to go through is still the most likely scenario sadly.

If they even try to think about playing an open game against Liverpool at Anfield they will get carved open.

Obviously I want Atletico to knock out those Scouse twats but I think the tie is still Liverpool’s to lose.

Liverpool aren't the same offensive juggernaut they were when this run started for them in the 17-18 season.

Of course Klopp has them very well drilled, and defensively they are far better than they were back then. But I just cant see them running over Atletico in the return leg.

This Liverpool team winning everything on their way reminds me of Juve from 1996 to 1998: they eventually lost unexpectedly. Liverpool might knock Atletico out but there are more dangerous teams next rounds.

My main concern is that there are a lot of teams that play at pace, counter attack, and have quality players that can hurt us. Sure, they leave spaces at the back, but will we be good enough to exploit them, and once we create chances, will we finish them?

We're vulnerable at the back because our midfield is slow and static - if our midfielders lose possession, or lose the ball in key positions, we'll be exposed more often than not.

It also doesn't help that we have an inflexible chain smoking pseudo coach guiding us. He doesn't exactly ooze charisma, inspire confidence, or instill motivation in his players.

We can play at pace - snail's pace.

There is a Juventus in Brazil though. And also a Juventus IF in Sweden. I think the Swedish one isn’t around anymore.

Also back then no one really feared them so played more or less openly. It's getting harder for them naturally.

They were too gung-ho back then, which is often good for the CL but not so good over a league season. They are much better balanced now, it took Klopp a little while to figure it out.

Still, they don't often concede the lead, so when you have a fast, aggressive and skillful counter attack it will win you 90% of games from that position.

Our midfield is neither slow nor static. It is a common knowledge in football that if you lose the ball in the middle of the field you're gonna be exposed to a counter attack. Our B2B are Bentancur, Rabiot, Matuidi, Ramsey and Khedira. I can give you Khedira but the former four are dynamic players. We play majority of our games against opponents who put ten players behind the ball so there's no space to run into. We played against Leverkusen who prefer an open play and we did not have much problems with them.

Breaking down Atletico will be hard and I can see them having a couple of counter chances themselves. Nothing is clear cut in the CL, ever.
