Atalanta are terribly naive and lack any sort of compactness in defense. Their whole defensive game is based on man marking which leaves huge spaces on the pitch. It only gets worse once their players tire out and start losing their 1-on-1.

Gasperini has been the same his whole career. Largely inflexible and so his team will take a battering now and then, and batter a few teams.

Of course Guardiola thinks he's great, because he knows he's playing a team 1/10 of his budget with a similar style - easy win. In fact I don't think City could have picked a better group than Atalanta, Shakthtar and any random minnow.
