If City don't get an away goal they are most likely out as Liverpool will probably score at least one in Manchester
Wait wut? Didn't you say City were sure to win the CL just hours ago? What are you going to do now? Does this mean Liverpool are now going to win it?

Where is vialli92 and nedved96 indeed guardiola is a better coach than allegri
With all this talk about how our midfield isn’t good enough, Liverpool destroyed City today with a midfield of 3 completely average players.

The speed at which Liverpool’s forwards were combining in the first half is something you don’t see at Juve. It’s very hard for even Max’s biggest defenders to deny that Klopp is far superior at teaching his players attacking movement.

Max has other qualities as a coach.

I'd be curious to play a 4-3-1-2 this year/next year. I know some, like @MikeM hate the lack of width in the formation, but Bernadeschi is probably a better CAM than he is a winger, and certainly a better CAM than Dybala. So move Dybala forward to play the Tevez role, as he is far better closer to goal.

Szczesny
De Sciglio :inter: - Benatia - Chiellini - Sandro
Khedira - Pjanic - Matuidi
Bernadeschi
Dybala-Higuain

Upgrade Khedira and De Sciglio and that's a pretty damn good starting XI imo.
Well right off the bat you are asking Berna to drop into a flat midfield four defensively right? This is like our current defensive formation except there are no wide midfielders to help the fullbacks. So either you are exposing the fullbacks or Berna is dropping into the centre and Khedira and Matuidi push outside to help the fullbacks.

Either way I don't think it's optimal.

Then in attack you have no width so how easily are we pressed? Basically as easy as possible. MDS looks up to play a pass and who is there, only Khedira? Khedira on the touchline is pressed immediately and countered. Then you are in 6s and 7s because the CM is on the touchline.

I think for the 4-3-1-2, you need excellent fullbacks and CMs of which we have none. Fullbacks that can provide their own width. CMs that can come inside and outside. Technical, fast, strong. Basically Pogba, Vidal, prime Marchisio.

But for me, this formation is a non-start defensively. It's even weaker than our current 4-4-2 which is in shambles even against Spurs!

That post from redcafe

"...Also I swear just watch Moreno the last 10 minutes and how often he managed to get into a bad position. That dude is so dumb. Every five games Lovren does commit a silly error, because he is haunted by the ghost of Moreno."

Just think of the absurdity: people who have only watched football the last decade have the audacity to claim a GOAT.
The whole concept of goat is stupid anyway. Players are the greatest in any given moment.

Messi would have been 1m40 if he had been born in 1950 for example, so there go his goat aspirations.

That's why I said upgrade Khedira and De Sciglio. Get a Vidal type for Khedira and then you have midfield engines on either side of Pjanic in the form of Matuidi and ?... And get a WC RB. If Sandro returns to form we'd have two top FBs.

I know Maradona helped Argentina won the WC but CL has higher quality than WC. Messi and CR7 are the best two in football history. FYI, I'm not a fan of those two.
They are the most consistent and firm players in football history. Maradona was more entertaining.
Ronaldinho, De Lima Ronaldo, Zidane, Pele and Maradona are better than Messi and Ronaldo.

If Messi was born even 10-15 years earlier he'd be 1m40, with spindly little muscles.
