I get you. I do. But no one in England gives a shit about Calciopoli. We don't understand it. We don't want to or need to. And whatever happened, happened. And I assume it will have been dealt with appropriately. And that's that.

I suppose I just don't want you guys associating Spurs with a victim mentality. We got beat. We can accept it. Football is a game where there has to be a winner and a loser. It doesn't make Juve any less of a winner to accept that we've come to terms with having lost this one. These press interviews are just narrative colour.

You guys are going to have an absolute field day if you eliminate Liverpool. They'll bite! :)
Your manager made unfortunate comments. I did not see the English media do the same (the opppsite really) nor did I see many Spurs players moan about the result.

So I wouldn't go as far as to associate his comments with a victim mentality at Tottenham. This was just a personal mistake on his behalf.

Vertonghen: ‘Juve lack style’
Football Italia

Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen hits back at Juventus, saying the Old Lady do not play good football and haven’t won the Champions League ‘in a while.’

The defender was responding to Giorgio Chiellini’s comments that the North London club ‘are always missing something’ after Juve beat them 2-1 at Wembley on Wednesday to progress to the Champions League quarter finals.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the Belgian international insisted that Spurs will always remain true to their attacking philosophy, adding that teams such as Barcelona have succeeded where the Bianconeri have failed.

“Maybe they [Juventus] haven’t won a Champions League in a while either,” Vertonghen is quoted as saying.

“Barcelona did it and so many others did it in the way that we want to play.

“You can speak about it in both ways. They have won so many Scudetti and have been in the Champions League.

“They are obviously a great team but not in the style that we want to play. And I believe that our style fits us better.

“We will always have our own identity and the way we play. We could have played five or six at the back but that is not how we are.”

Vertonghen remains adamant that his side, rather than Juve, should be in Friday’s quarter final draw.

“The way we want to play is that we want to show what we are here for and we believe it is the right way.

“To attack and dominate the game. We should have killed the game.”

That's great, Jan.

Congrats on going out in the 2nd round of the Champions League and probably finishing fourth in the league. Yet another meaningless season under the belt
