Padoin > Zico then
Don't come around with them weak equivalency attempts

Ramos without a shadow of a doubt is a top CB, a goal scoring CB and a serial winner. What is there to critisize?

His competition is what? Silva? Chiellini? Kompany? None of them have been as instrumental and crucial to their side's success like Ramos has...man has 20 game winning goals....not counting his remaing 50+ goals.

He's a winner and will be remembered as the best CB of his era

Godin has made a huge impact at Atletico. Even at Uruguay. When you look at how both of those teams have over-achieved while he's been part of them, he deserves a lot of credit.

Do you even read that crap before you posted it. Are we judging the players or the success of the teams they played in?

Ramos is nothing special as a defender. He has 18 red cards in La liga alone, which is a disgrace. Yes, he scores a lot of headers and he's been extremely lucky to score some of those goals in very important games. And that's useful and an added bonus, but when we're talking about a defender the defending part is what counts more. Real Madrid's success can hardly be attributed to great defense.

You could have said he's one of the best to make it sound a bit less stupid but you said "Ramos is the best CB of his era by quite the distance." The only adequate response is

And both teams, especially Atletico, achieved their success mainly due to their great defense.

If we'd signed Ramos this summer you'd sure as hell be squirting in your panties.
Before we sold Bonucci Ramos would have been a definite sub. Right now it's an open question.

Everybody remembers the prize fighter nobody remembers the contender. Godin is a fantastic defender, but unfortunately he doesn't have the medals to turn heads.

Capdevilla is the best left back right?
20 trophies vs 3 :baus:

Ramos will be cheered and revered for decades to come, while only Juve fans will sing praises to their BbC lol

I don't think so.

Listing all the trophies Ramos won makes him the defender with the most trophies, not necessarily the best defender. You can't possibly not understand the difference.

Sorry Fr3sh, but Ramos is not really that good if we are only looking at defending. Not like he is bad, he is obviously not, but defensive i wouldnt put him in top3, maybe not even top5

Its fair to say though that he is the best offensive defender, he scores a crazy amount of goals

He's not the best offensive defender either. He's on of the best at scoring headers from set pieces. That's about it.

I'd rather have a winner with Ogbonna's skills, then a Chiellini with ridiculous final loosing streak.
So? Im only 3 shy of that too :)

And thats bad logic if ogbonna is not the one winning t
You those titles. De ceglie has more league titles than totti dont forget

Yep. Arbeloa has one of the most insane trophy cabinets in the world yet is nowhere to be found when talking about the top 100 players of the sport.

However, I think people undermine Ramos' defensive talents just because he scored goals too.

Yeah, I knew you were trolling from the beginning. Nobody is that clueless.
What?!

Is Real Madrid NOT the best footballing instution in the world? Do they not have really deep pockets and a long reach? Don't they want nothing but the best? So why keep shitty Ramos for so long? Exactly! Ramos is best of his generation.

I think you guys are too up into your feelings and refusing to recognize greatness.

Real Madrid have a long tradition of spending 0 on defenders.
