i started following football (and juve) around '86. i've seen the '96 final, but since then, we didn't manage to win the damn thing even when the club was sitting comfortably among the 5 richest clubs in the world. now we're closer to being out of the top10 than coming back into the top5, so we'll have even less chance for a win year by year. i'm ready for an other 20-30 years of disappointment before we win it once again. :baus:
Damn u must be old if u started following 86.

Number 1 thing that needs to happen is that the club has to prioritize CL over all else. Real, Milan and Liverpool won most their CLs when they've already lost the league.
Milan stopped giving a fuck about the league when Berlusconi took over and they ended up with 7 CL titles. Their last 2 titles was won when they weren't even in the title picture in the league.

We are on 35 now. No way anyone is ever catching up with that record. We need to take a stand and prioritize Europe but it probably won't happen.

I love the scudetto but it doesn't feel the same when there is no legit competition. Winning this year would be a great feeling though as we've finally had some competition.

I know Real won it 2 times in a row and going for 3rd most likely but i see some similarities with Milan 03-05-07 here.

When u look at their current team. Ronaldo is 33. Ramos is 32. Modric is 32. Benzema is 31. Marcelo and Kroos are nearing 30.

As in Milan had their generation which resulted in those 3 finals in 4 years. Even Real will struggle to replace these guys. We are witnessing history here. In 10 years time noone will talk about some dubious pen from Benatia or offside goal against Bayern. These things have always happened.

We should be smart here. Real decline is not years away.

See Barca already having problems in europe since Xavi retired. Iniesta now. Messi hasnt reached semis since 2015. Im not saying Messi done. Im just saying you need quality core to win CL. And Barca youth isnt producing anymore.

In that sense the big spending epl clubs are in top position in coming years. History will show if one team league France Psg qatar monet can do smth.

Bayern is also suffering from lack of compettion in Bundesliga. Last time they won it was when Dortmund fought neck and neck with them.

In that sense maybe us having competition in serie a could actually be helpful.

Bayern and Psg win their leagues by February and then get caught in europe. Im not saying la liga is some best league ever fact is Barca is ahead of Real in la liga and Real-Barca rivalry has also helped both sides in terms of upping the game. Atletico also keeping it competitive.

We saw the epl dominate CL in late 00s when also the gap between all their top teams was less. Look at it now. Manutd with this Mourinho philosophy wont win another CL. Even Arsenal made final in 00s.

Even with VAR, it is totally at the discretion of the ref to award a foul or a penalty

Refereeing in football is inconsistent. It is not as clear cut as other sports. There are situations where there is a slight contact and a player is given a yellow card or you make a bad foul and don't get booked. The rules can be totally exploited to the benefit of the referee and he could still be right.
So let us take cuadrado penalty incident if the referee watches it on the monitor will he award a penalty or not or even the carvajal foul on lewandowski

BTW if EPL wants to dominate they need to get rid of the League Cup ASAP.

Another point I would like to make: it might be better that if we don't win CL then Real keeps winning it, we might not ever become the best club ever, but we can shoot for 2nd best at some point.
Not to sound like an arrogant cunt, but put youre focus in on winning one first :p as an example, when Bayern won treble in 2013, it looked like they would dominate Europe in the coming years. Inter won the treble but dissapeared. United won in 2008, but havent won since.

To win in Europe is so damn hard, so I think Its not really serious to talk about being the second best club as right now, when youre focus should be on just winning the trophy. Yes things changes in football, but still. To be the second best you have to win hell of a lot CL’s, Liverpool, Bayern and Barcelona are 3 in front then you have Milan with 7, Liverpool might even have 6 from this summer.

Cant see them win the final against real though.

Not to sound arrogant but we are still the last team to beat Real in knockouts. So therefore Juve>Bayern.

Also they lost to Tottenham this season and Leganes in CDR. So therefore Juve>Tottenham>Leganes>Bayern.

Also they lost preseason friendly to Manutd and Levski Sofia MLS All-Stars so therefore Juve>Tottenham>Leganes>Manutd>Levski>Bayern grannies.

Of course, gotta take it one step at a time. I just said it's possible and I believe that Juve will win 3 CLs in 30 years.

Winning one for every decade sounds realistic, thats also what Bayern have been doing in newer time, United as well. They wont win one in this decade it seems, Liverpool have a chance now.
