No, it was hardly due to that. It was because of De Gea and some really awful finishing by Sevilla. Neither of these teams is good enough for the Champions League.
manure didn't even put players into space which the sevilla midfield were leaving behind, instead they had at least 2 of the 3 midfielders in holding positions even in attack

Buffon had quite a poor match unfortunately. I'm curious to see what will be done with Szczesny going forward this year as he been better than Buffon so far. Sad to see age finally starting to catch up to Gigi.
I love how whenever Buffon has a poor stretch the age thing is brought up. Older players don't get to go through a period of poor form? It was the same thing with Del Piero, he was old and finished for a while in every season in the second part of his career, I lost count of how many times people wrote him off and then he made them eat their words, it literally went on for like 10 years

Gigi has played plenty of good games in the past year, played an incredible CL campaign last season and been faultless most of the time, but as soon as he drops the ball in one game against Spurs, age is catching up with him? lol, kneejerking much?

I agree that Sczcesny has been mostly great this season and deserves a fair chance to fight for Nr 1 shirt, but in November he had a worse mistake than Buffon did against Spurs, was age catching up with him as well?

Yes. Back to Europapokal der Landesmeister.
That would be awful. There would be four or five decent teams and the rest would be rubbish. And imagine what it'd look like if we got a Leicester, Napoli or Dortmund winning their national leagues. Any Elite competition that doesn't give the top 20 richest clubs a very good chance of participation is one that is doomed to fail. They'll just breakaway and form their own competition.

Way too many scrubs in the CHAMPIONS league.
Instead you'd have the champions of Luxembourg vs champions of Belgium in the European Cup. Whilst Chelsea, Man Utd, Real Madrid and Juve twiddle their thumbs in the UEFA Cup (based on current league placings)?

You just mad 'cause Spurs will never win Premier League.

Touché. Then again, I can see your logic. Juve would have a better chance of winning the European Cup if the majority of Europe's top 20 teams weren't taking part. :)
I don't want a champions only CL. I do want tho something more liek the 90s where people actually gave a fuck about UEFA Cup and Cup Winners Cup.

They need to either scratch Europa League or add more big teams to the tournament. Mickey Mouse Cup at the moment.

In ten years we'll probably have just one big tournament, rather that than this current shit.
