dunno, I wouldn't try to fix what isn't broken. and not every player on the team has to be a star, it's good for the team if some are just good, hard working guys like Casemiro or Navas and it seemed Real had grasped that the last few years.

imo the moment they go back to the Galactico mindset of style over substance they're back to choking in CL 1/8 finals. fingers crossed
But that's why Real has been so successful, they make star players work their asses off, otherwise they're booed the fuck off.
And in general laziness and stuck-up-ness is obsolete in top level football, nowadays only Messi seems to be allowed to pick and choose when to run, other teams' stars have to work their asses off no matter how talented they are.

Well I disagree, I think Real has been successful because they stopped assembling their team as a reality show and started to recruit players based on their characteristics on the field not off it.

Real of old would've sent Casemiro packing just like they did with Makelele, I still love that Perez quote:

We will not miss Makélelé. His technique is average, he lacks the speed and skill to take the ball past opponents, and ninety percent of his distribution either goes backwards or sideways. He wasn't a header of the ball and he rarely passed the ball more than three metres. Younger players will arrive who will cause Makélelé to be forgotten.

and Zidane's take on the matter:
Why put another layer of gold paint on the Bentley when you are losing the entire engine?

Adriano on facing Kingsley Coman: "It's so annoying. You get tired with time but he doesn't. He is always there. They were leading 4-0 and he is still after you. I was happy when he was subbed off"

Against a garbage team down to 10 men

Amazing player how he can bully such a shit team with 10 players

He deserves the Balon d'or for not getting tired against Besiktas or who ever the fuck he was playing against
