The years they won Bundesliga were the years they were best defensively. In 2011 they allowed 22 goals against (best in league) and in 2012 they allowed 26 goals against (2nd best in league).

The next two years they allowed 42 and 38 goals and finished a mile behind Bayern. 25 points and 19 points back. Even though they scored more goals in these seasons.

Ultra-defensive play isn't required, but defensive solidity at the back is. Borussia is a perfect example of it by seeing how far they fell off as soon as they started leaking goals at the back.
Another fact from your own statement : defensive solidity can be achieved from offensive football, while offensive solidity cannot be achieved from defensive football. Pep's barca was the ultimate version of that fact.

yes, of course you need to be defensively solid to achieve things. I just think that Klopps Dortmund wasn't ultra defensive the way Atletico Madrid is or, an even better example, Greece under Rehagel was, but that side still was defensively solid and balanced.
I think Napoli could achieve that with time under Sarri, this was their first CL knockout tie in years, they'll learn from it.

We should play offensive football because madrid, barcelona, and munchen play offensive football and they won?
Barcelona have MSN, Madrid have Ronaldo Benzema Bale, Bayern have lewandowski muller ribery robben.
they have better front line than us with big margin.

why we should play against them in their way?

Nonsense. We are tied for 4th most CL final appearances. And that's with Calciopoli. Our method clearly works very successfully in Europe. A cup final is a one-off that in large part depends on luck. Nedved being. Suspended and Milan winning on penalties in 03... Madrid beating us with an offside goal... Dortmund beating us by scoring the 3 chances they had in the entire game. Hamburg beating us in the 80s even though we were the massively superior side.

While we have underperformed, considering we were favourites in 6 of our 8 CL finals, a lot of that is just down the nature of football, where the strongest team doesn't necessarily win a one-off final. The fact we get to the final as often as we have, beating teams over two legs where superior sides generally have a much bigger advantage in that they rarely play two poor games in a row, shows we have been very successful and very good.
Its true Juventus had some unluck in some CL finals, the same goes for Bayern Munich. For you guys its 2 of the 90´finals, and 03. For us its offcourse 1999 and 2012. How we managed to lose those two finals is still a thing i have a hard time understanding. Then also a 1987 final to Porto after being 1-0 up.

Both clubs have a giant history in Europe, and thats also why they imo belong to the very finest elite in European football. Both giant clubs with a massive history and players.

By justice both clubs would have had atleast 1 maybe 2 more CL trophies in the trophy room.

What exactly has Arsene achieved at Arsenal bar that one unbeaten season and a Champions League final. Imagine if that was us or Real or Bayern.. 1 League title. I understand he built the philosophy of the modern Arsenal but Fuck me. Insanity that he has lasted this long. The team is trash but that's also on him.

Btw do you guys think Barcelona can turn it around tonight against PSG? I mean the odds is against them big time, and one away goal for PSG and the match is pretty much over.

I just got a feeling that they gonna smash them, and a early goal in the first 5-10 min and maybe a red card for PSG then the door is open for them. Its gonna be interesting.

If PSG don't blow themself up and maintain their cool for the first 20mins without getting a goal they'll 100% go through

I highly doubt Barca can overturn the first leg's result. Not only is it pretty hard to score four goals against PSG's pretty decent backline (even with Messi and co), the nonstop attack to achieve that will expose them at the back and Cavani, Di maria et al, are more than capable of exploiting those free spaces at least once. And then it would be done and dusted.

Woah can't believe arsenal lost again 5-1, soulless club is what they are
it's sad and even pathetic when your owner doesn't give a shit about the team winning anything and just being happy making money every year :D
That's the only reason that justify Wenger being Arsenal boss for so long.
He gets mediocre results but still making money out of it.
Every year in top4 to get champions money and that's it.
American owner who doesn't give a shit about football is happy and Arsenal fan became accostumed to being losers

Barca will have a win to save some face but wont go through. PSG is insanely well equipped on the counter attack barca will need have a perfect game if they will come close to having a chance. I dont see this barca defense and midfield managing that.

It's possible but PSG just have to score 1 goal and it's game over. If any decent PSG team turn up tonight Barca have no chance of advancing to the next round

If Messi is in absolute deadly form and Neymar Can get into 1 vs 1 positions a lot and Challenge their backline they Will have a chance. They Will need to be absolutely intense and put pressure on PSG The whole game . Should be a great game to watch.
