On our current form we have no chance against Barcelona and Atletico. So avoiding them outright is a small boost for us. You can most likely lump Real Madrid in that category as well so hopefully they can win their group.

After that, 1st or 2nd is shaping up to have no real difference.

Games are 3 months away, so it's not too important how we are playing right now. Each season we're a different team by then. At least this time (touch wood) we haven't massacred ourselves with this stumble through the group stage early season.

:agree:

I think it clear that we lack a player in the midfield that can run with the ball and create however. All 3 of our midfielders can create but they are static. This gets masked by Dybala but it's clear we need that sort of player or a tactical change.

Guys, stop expecting us to steamroll our opponents in CL like we do in Serie A. Just accept that these two competitions are on another level.

The only teams to have won it by steamrolling in recent years are Jupp's Bayern and Barcelona.
Others have required luck at some point during the season (be it by the draw or during the games).

Unless we buy some serious quality in midfield, we aren't even causing a ripple in this season's competition. A favorable draw might see us make it all the way to the semis, but that is where our journey will end. We are nowhere near good enough to compete with the likes of Barca, Madrid, and Bayern, and given the current performance levels a tie against a team like ATM, Dortmund, City, or even Monaco might prove problematic. Our midfield is too slow, too predictable, and makes far too many mistakes. We can get away with that shit in Serie A, but in the CL, we will definitely get punished.

And idiots like you said the exact same thing in 2014/15 when we barely squeaked through the group stage playing for a 0-0 draw with Atletico at home.

Whiny pathetic fucks.

I thought you said the bitches disappeared? It's like they got a shot of amphetamines from this win. :(

Higgy will bomb the minnows, and in the final we'll replace him with Mandzukic. @Post Ironic

Somehow we managed first in our group with Higgy scoring 1 goal. :D

Even with current squad, without any additional midfielder and injuries plague we can do much better. Max always was a "spring-football" coach, so I'm not worried at all.

P.S. I've seen some meltdowns here after trashy games (Gala, Benfica etc.), but never witnessed one caused by hypothetical game against hypothetical super-team(for some reason even atletico is that much better) in 3 months.
