yeah Cesar had a lot of minutes cause casillas was out of form. But since then he ahs been untopuchable, he was still a young unexperienced lad back then
Young perhaps, but hardly unexperienced. He had already won the Champions league once or twice before that, not to mention La Liga.

Casillas is only looking good cos the Real defence is very dodgy so hes always on the ball. Buffon has a solid defence which makes it harder cos you tend to switch off now and again. Casillas is just a shot stopper, where as buffon is complete in every department.

I disagree. He's looking good because he is good. If it wasnt for him Real would be conceding much more than they currently are. The defence in front of him is a joke, and he's the only thing stopping Real from having one of the worst defensive records in the league. He has fantastic shot stopping abilities, great agility, probably the best reflexes in the world and is good in one on one situations. Only thing he lacks is arial presence in catching crosses, corners and free kicks. Other than that, he's great. Certanly onme of the top 4 keepers in the world, along with Buffon, Dida and Cech.

Casillas is a muppet! Just goes to show the mentality those 'Lost Galacticos' have. You'll never hear our Buffon come up with comments like that, he a true professional. Sod You Casillas! We've got the worlds number one! Our very own superman.
You really have to question the mentality and motivation of someone like Casillas to have to feel the need to publicly say something like this. Rather than improving his stature, he's hurt it. Rather than making him look like the better keeper, it makes him look like the lesser man, the lesser leader, and like someone in fear of their status.

this guy is so overrated...!
I wouldnt say he's overrated juve_kosova. He is one of the best keepers in todays game, but I dont like they way he portrays himself as immortal, cockyness etc. Typical Real Madrid. Hope they continue that way cos we'll be the ones laughing at the end of the season.

Well, IMO sometimes it is neccessary. A goalkeeper is nothing without his confidence.

No doubt he'd start ahead of Buffon for Los Merengues.People talk about Casillas' shortcomings but if Buffon had a joke of a defence protecting him he'd have alot of his weaknesses exposed too.

Well ppl here tend to underrate Cassilias, most probably becos he's at Real Madrid or what he said.

Cassilias has performed well for Real Madrid, and he is 1 of the main players involved that doesn't allow the team to concede more goals, otherwise Real would be juz a mid-table team with a defence that looks like clowns in the circus. Great shot-stopping ability, agility and reflexes, good in 1 on 1 too. Well deserved to be in the top 5 goalkeepers in the world, despite being the shortest of the lot.

Which makes me wonder, how did Nikopolidis got in there.

Well put, swag, I totally agree. He's a good keeper but trash talking like that is just silly.

So far this season, Cas is doing pretty good Job. I don't blame him for the goals he conceded, It's just he got some overrated defenders infront of him.

But is it trash talking ??

Wheres the rest of the interview...

Mark never posted the rest of it....

Did he jus come out with this... or was he asked a question... if so what was that question....

Eg. If cassilas was asked...

There are rumours that buffon will come to madrid... How do you think that would affect your position at the club ?

And Cassillas answered :

I think Buffon is a great keeper, but i am confident that "Even if Buffon would join Real, he'd still be my sub."

Is that trash talking ?? I dont think so...

Casillas is inside the final 12 months of his contract at Real and is being linked with a January move to Arsenal.

He said: "My desire is the same because I have been with Madrid since I was eight years old. This is my family, my friends are here...

"But I do not want to speak more on this subject because it tires me. I am thankful that people ask, but my idea is to be playing for the team and Spain, to do the things well and then soon everything else will take care of itself.

"The peculiar thing in my life is that I have only had one team, Madrid.

"My dream is to retire here. It is possible we will reach an agreement."

Gigi coming closer to Real?
