I dont see the need for us to jump the gun like that. Capello is only in the second year of his first contract agreement. Yes, it is true we have just won the scudetto this past year, but how about leaving him a little bit more on the edge than giving him an extension just a few games into the season. It might motivate him momentarily, but in the long run I dont quite like the implications of this contract extension. I feel we should've definitely waited till the third year of Capello's contract and reviewed the situation at that point of time. With the gift of hindsight. In my opinion, Fabio had a sense of urgency in his way of working, given the fact that he had limited time and wanted to make the most of it. However, now I fear, he's just going to get comfortable in the fact that he's about to earn 4 mil. euros till 2009.

It may be only early October, but I don't see how anyone can see a bad thing given where we are now. Juve deserves a top notch coach, and he is one of them.

The timing for this is way off. And Capello, top notch coach? More like, Juventus, top notch team.

they have the habbit to sack coaches every while,I wonder why Mancini survived that long
Because Mancini is more stupid than Moratti, so Moratti didn't know what to do.

Oh dear.

He's going to have a great season this year. I'm positive we'll win the Italian championship and will play the CL final. He will also destroy DP's career though.

Next year is going to be a *****. I'm positive we won't win anything. Fans will be calling for Capello's head and eventually their wish will be granted. Which results in Juventus paying Capello to do nothing.

Smart move huh.

1. Del Piero's career has been going downhill for years, and if it gets destroyed I dont think Capello should get the blame.

2. Even if he doesnt win anything next season I dont think he'll be fired. You cant win every season.

It is pretty positive actually. I'm assuming we're going to have a great season. We won't be having a great one next season though and I'm sure a lot of people will be calling for Capello's head, since he isn't very liked anyway. In the end Juventus will answer that call.

Juve is a top-notch team, of course. But who would you have as Juve's coach in his absence?

Prandelli? Perhaps. But is he ready to take on Juve?

Spaletti? Even he can't save Roma.

Ancelotti? Sorry, that didn't work out too well the first time.

Mancini? Please.

Mourinho? I'd love him, but I doubt most other people here would.

Zeman? I hear he's looking for work.

Thats what I'm on about. Let Capello finish his first stint before we kill his motivation by giving him a new contract when his first contract hasnt even reached half way. After another year, a few more candidates could fall in place. And I dont think he's the only capable man for the job on the market.

There's Prandelli, yes. There's Carlo Mazzone, Carlos Bianchi, Didier Deschamps, Moronho and perhaps even Zdenek Zeman if the need requires. The point I'm trying to make is, Capello will only be so good at Juventus for so long. If he wins the Champions League this season for example, how many more trophies do you see us win, through 2009? There was nothing wrong with Lippi as Juventus coach but that marriage failed purely because there was nothing left to motiivate either party. This contract could've been used to motivate Fabio, if for example we won the Scudetto or Champions League this term. Something has to keep you going.
