Im shure the Triade has analized to exhaustion the pros and cons of offering Capello an extension contract. Seems they had conclude that "the time is right" to do so, and im shure they know what they doing. Behind this desicion could be many reasons, some of them probably just known by Juve directors like Moggi and Giraudo, but some others can be guessed, just because they are typical of the Triade "philosy of management" :

- He is, arguably, the most succesful italian coach of the last years, having just Lippi as a real contender of this title. And how long has been since we had a non-italian coach??
On one hand you speak of the the trio and their 'philosophy of management' Eaglesnake. On the other, you mention how Capello is arguably the most successful Italian coach and the possibility of a non-Italian coach to be somewhat of a risk. Yes, I would prefer Juve's coach to be Italian myself, but dont forget it is this very trio of Moggi, Giraudo and Bettega who were admittedly on the verge of signing Didier Deschamps.

-Capello is a "hard-liner", with managerial and directive skills that in a short future can take the tasks now worked by Bettega, becoming a sort of Coach-sport director...
What is the point you are trying to make there? I dont think it's a bad idea having Capello on the board as sporting director. As long as it doesnt come at the cost of Moggi.

- At first, the triade offers a three year contract to capello and they give him a first class but aged team, good enough to navigate at high stakes for two or three years, no more. Now, they had worked with him and it seems he has gained her confidence to the point of chosing him the right players for the inevitable transition( Thuram, Canna,Dp, Nedved) we will have in one or two years.

First class but aged team? From what I remember on Capello's arrival, Emerson and Zebina were already around, after which we went on to acquire Ibrahimovic and Cannavaro. Barring the latter, every one of those acquisitions were pre 30s. If really, the question of being comfortable with Capello arose in the first place, then why wasnt he given the contract close season, when he had already won the scudetto? What is the big idea of giving it in the opening phase of the second season. Are they so sure, with the results thus far that we're already guaranteed success this season?

- Giving him the extension contract is just the way to let him make planns for the future and not only "win now, tomorrow we will see".....

Sure they will. However, please point out to me how it is better to giving him this extension 7 games into the season when he cant do a darn thing about it if its in context to the transfer market. If this is indeed the line of thought, why not give him the extension when he can do something about it, either this past close season or the ensuing season end, when they'll have, like I said, the gift of hindsight at their disposal.

- Check the modern history of the team. Is not coincidence that the most succesful coaches(Trapp and Lippi) are also the ones with more years spended with the team. They are trying to emulate this with Capello.

Im still thinks that the Triade know very well their work. If they decided to do this, there is probably the best thing to do.....

Yes, I dont think I would trade Moggi, Giraudo and Bettega with any other trio in world football, but do keep in mind, they're only human at the end of the day. And they were made to realise that when they appointed Ancelloti as coach. Nothing wrong with Carletto, as far as I'm concerned, but he just wasnt the right coach for us.

You are looking at Juventus' history and the reign of their most successful coaches. However, dont you think it would be a good idea to actually look at Capello's history with teams over a long period of time as well? To me, the fact remains, that he's a coach who builds a team only for short term success, with little or no consideration for the youth quotient in the squad.
Then again, thats not what I'm contesting. Its the timing of this contract extension which I felt to be inappropriate, since its a long term commitment that needs to be viewed from a better perspective. Something, based on more than one scudetto.

I´m just wondering how important it is for italian people to have an italian coach for juve? Would the fans reject an non italian coach?
Now some people is talking about capello taking part as a sports director and honestly I would not like to see that happen, specially not now with all the media bs saying that Capello is trying to push Moggi out. Moggi has several of other offers so don´t take any risks.
In a way every coach works for the future, I actually see Gladstone, Balzaretti, etc as long-term "investments". Don´t forget we have great players on loan and I hope Cap is watching
