He was jumping out of the back line all match. He left huge gaps multiple times and Spain missed them in the first half. I'm not sure what he was doing against Morata. It made no sense to jump out at him there, there's no danger of a shot on goal or anything.

I think whatever drugs he's on to keep his calf working is probably amping him up too much.

Forgot nothing. He was caught between closing him down or backing up and he ended up backpedaling in that mess of a crowd..but he was being careful trying to avoid filling in the offside which happened anyway..watch super slow motion Chiellini is sluggish but not the cause. There is Lorenzo and Bonucci I believe holding thier dicks filling in the offside escorting morata to gift a goal.
Min 51 that busquets shot which Chiellini runs to challenge, there is 2-3 players standing around static and busquets receives the ball via simple pass nobody is closing down this is another example of Italy players in sleep mode just like filling the offside.

Morata knew fast quick passing would break through chiellini and bonucci. It is an issue..chiellini and bonucci are both slow these days, no brainer how to get passed them. Italy's midfield suck today and didn't protect the defense at all....nonetheless we made it through. Lets just hope if we face England our midfield step it up.

Im not sure if calling them slow is the right word. In general it’s always been a struggle playing against a very fast passing side, but the pace and the intensity of the game was so incredibly high, that I think that calling them slow doesn’t cover the performance they had. Mistakes will happen in these kind of games.

Also as you said the midfield was so awkward and it was very easy for Spain to find space between the lines. It was a though game but I’m proud on Chiellini and Bonucci.
