Chiellini: 'Conte brings enthusiasm'
Giorgio Chiellini is confident Juventus fans can believe in success with Antonio Conte in charge and some new top signings. “He brings enthusiasm.”
The defender was speaking about the big changes in Turin after Gigi Del Neri was sacked to make way for the former Siena boss.
“I did not have the fortune to play alongside Conte, but I am very curious to see how he does. He is a person who brings enthusiasm and determination,” said Chiellini.
“The fans called for him to be hired, but that is not the only reason the club called Conte. The supporters are important, but it’s wrong to think the directors follow their whims. This decision was carefully considered.”
The Bianconeri have been linked with numerous top stars on the transfer market and Chiellini urged them to make a splash.
“In order to improve, we need players who make the difference. We have already changed so much in recent years and I don’t think it’s right to revolutionise everything.
“The new stadium is already a big step forward, as it guarantees investment and big players. With a couple from the players that have been suggested, like Karim Benzema, Alexis Sanchez and Carlos Tevez, the fans have every right to dream. I expect a big name like that to arrive.”
