It did not turn into Chiellini vs. Marchisio. I was just stating my opinion, and a team captain is the best possible way to be a team icon in football.

Everyone already knows Marchisio doesn't take precedence over Chiellini when it comes to wearing the armband. Common knowledge.

But my point is why compare him with Marchisio when he'll wear the armband every time before him in the absence of ADP and Buffon?

You should be comparing him against our real captains because that's who he's eventually going to take the armband from. Not Marchisio.

I don't know if you are aware of it yet, but we've had this discussion a lot in here.

Even if Chiellini is doing a great job of becoming an icon of this club, he still is far away from what both Ale and Buffon represents to Juventus, and rightly so.

I wouldn't refer to it as common knowledge. You'd be quite surprised actually. ;)
