I agree.

I don't think players reserve the right to tell anyone where they should play. Nedved thought he should play in the CM, but he is clearly a better winger. Players are players and coaches are coaches. And us fans pretend to know more than both of them.
exactly right

I think by them using the word "indispensable" they are giving Chiellini what he complained for. Equal treatment that the actually "indispensable" and "big" players at our club get.
It is a smart move by the club at the moment, but this isn't a trend that should continue. Chiellini is an important player for the future and we should try and please him, but there should always be a line between indispensible players like Gigi, Nedved, Ale, etc. and those that still have to make a name for themselves, like Chiellini. What I'm trying to say is players need to keep their mouth shut, especially the younger ones that still have a lot to show, I don't want Chiellini or anyone else thinking they're more important than they actually are. For now this is a good move but if any future outbursts from him come he should be put to place.

I totally agree. It was a tough situation for the Juventus Management, but Chiellini's value to the team was worth the risk of setting a low precedent.

    Chiellini heading for City?
    Friday 27 July, 2007
Reports in England suggest that Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini could sign for Manchester City this weekend in a £7m deal.

The full-back was linked with Liverpool earlier in the summer and seems certain to leave after complaining that he felt neglected by the Bianconeri, who had only focused on renewing the contracts of their star names.

The Tuscan stopper’s agent Davide Lippi then confirmed that his client might leave Turin if it became clear that he would have limited playing time next term.

According to BBC Sport, Manchester City hope to finalise Chiellini’s signing in the next few days, adding to their Italian contingent along with Rolando Bianchi and Bernardo Corradi.

New Coach Sven Goran Eriksson, who has cash at his disposal from former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, is keen to complete the signing as soon as possible.

However, they could face competition from Liverpool if their bid to sign Gabriel Heinze from Manchester United were to fail.

Chiellini hasn't proven himself enough yet to be labeled "indispensible"..

I do think he'll make a better CB, the sooner the transition the better.
ur right, he hasnt earnt the right to be named indispensible but his talent and future is the reason he is recognised as "indispensible".... i think Raineri has made up his mind n that he is a CB first

His best position is LB.He started to play CB in serie B where there is not as much pressure as in serie A.I don't like him as a CB.We have other CBs to do the job (Andrante-Boum-Legro-Zebina-Criscito).It's normal to be used in other positions but he's 1st option for the left.

Chiellini would be so stupid to leave Juve for a mediocre team like City. Yhere is just no way he can justify that to us fans. Money, trophies, national team, he is way better off staying with us.

Yes, history shows that italians that have moved to the EPL, get overlooked for Italian National Team. Zola is a prime example.

    Chiellini dont be so stupid!

Nice to see.. hopefully this gives the confidence chiellini needs to perform
i really hope so it would be awful to lose him with our defense so shorthanded already we need to keep him and sign a new cb. heinze would be ideal as he can play in a variety of defensive roles his flexibility would be very useful

    Juve rule out Chiellini sale

    Friday, 27 July 10:10 BST

Juventus are set to dash Manchester City's hopes by vowing to retain defensive star Giorgio Chiellini.

The defender's future at Juve was plunged into doubt following a spat with new coach Claudio Ranieri.

New City chief Sven Goran Eriksson had been alerted to the situation and was ready to step in with a bid.

Chiellini's agent said recently that he was waiting for the green light from Juve to discuss a move for his client, but the Old Lady have stated he is too important to sell.

"We believe Chiellini is indispensable for Juve," said Juve chairman Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.

    That's good news!

:agree: He may be a LB just now, but I think he would settle very comfortably into a CB position.

Chiellini's going nowhere. He'll lead our defence for years to come.
Imagine a Criscito - Chiellini CB partnership. :eyebrows:
