Not really. It doesn't take a big footballing brain to realize he isn't talented enough football-wise to play as a fullback. It's not his fault he's being deployed there.

He isn't talented enough to play as a CB either (at this level). This has nothing to do with where he's deployed, it's all about the quality of the player, or in this case lack thereof.

I beg to differ. He already showed multiple times what a beast of a defender he is. It's just that he's currently hitting a bit of a bad form.

The position which a player is deployed in always matter, especially if it's not his natural position. I'm not saying he'll do wonders if he'll play as a CB currently, but if we want him to get back to his old self, playing him out of position surely ain't the way.
