Let Real Madrid have him, and buy a CB who's got more to his game than brute force.

And seeing how overhyped he is, we should get quite a lot of money for his brainless ass.

Do you know David Luiz? Lucio? Pepe? Puyol? Mexes? Some players just need a bit more agressivity because they live the game much more than their teammates.

Yes, he is overhyped by us, but that's because we can see him as a symbol of the club and you don't sell one for a few bucks.

Ohh i see. And here i was thinking it was about creating a great team that could compete for major titles. Silly me.

So yeah, let's keep our "club symbol" Chiellini, regardless of his inabillity to pass the ball and his horribel positioning.

When you want to create a big team, you don't sell your only classy players. Creating a great team is a buying process, so you'll have to put the money on the table. Sell Chiellini would gave us, at best, 15M to another squad player (since ~15 should be reserved for a good CB) and we'd lost a great player (regardless you think he is or not) for two good ones.

Chiellini don't know how to pass? For god sake, he is a CB. And he is meaningly above average in that chapter (for his position, ofc). If you mean long pass, then I just don't want Juve playing that shitty kind of game. About positioning, he rectifies that with some pace and agressivity. A right partner can help, too. Two equal CB, where their mainly quality is being usually consistent, will be fucked against the great strikers.

But let's sell Buffon, Chiellini, Melo and release Del Piero to earn funds and create a 'great' team.

Chiellini's presence is important for the club. The guy is a leader, very talented CB, and understands the value of the Juve shirt. Eventhough he goes over the top sometimes and tends to try to do too much which usually cost us, but he should be alright. It's mainly lack of confidence due to the recent results by the club, so great players like Chiellini think they have to do it all to try getting the club on the right track, which isn't the case, and that is where GOOD coach should intervene and do his job by motivating players to bring back confidence, and giving the right directions based on the events of the match, and Del Neri just not good enough

In todays game you need to be a good passer of the ball, even in defence. Chiellini is not. He's to sloppy in possesion and when he tries to bring the ball upfield, he gives the ball away 9 out of 10 times, which more than often creates a dangerous situation. And considering his age, these things are probably not getting any better.

The above mentioned players shouldn't be sold because we can't get better players for the money a sale would bring. That's not the case with Chiellini though.

How should I know who's available to us?

I would guess we could get around €20-25M for Chiellini, and for that kind of money we could get a better player than Chiellini.

Sure we can get a better player than Melo, but not for the €15M(or so) he would generate.

You can't know but surely you can gimme a random name (realistically) to strong your position.

For 20M we can't get better and that value is even more laughable. With 20M you could buy a worst defender than him and that's all. No extra cash for other positions.

Mascherano? M'Vila?

Yes, Mexes is a good option. But he isn't better than Chiellini, they are at the same level. And I see no point in trade one of our captains for a similar quality player and 20M. I just can't get it. Football shouldn't be just about figures. It's not 20M that will make the huge difference if we want to build a big team.

And... there aren't much more options after Mexes and if we fail on him, we'd be fucked.

You really let him troll you into thinking Mecksays is on Chiellini's level? He was backup to Burdisso at Roma and Boumsong for France.
