That was fast. Within 15 minutes Carlo Garganese wrote me. I'll be contacting him and I'll let you guys know what is going to happen. I really want this to go mainstream because I want fans of other teams and other leagues to be exposed to it as well. Calciopoli was as much a trial of public opinion as anything else. People's opinions in masses count for something so those sites should do their part.

I recently finished reading the book Forza Italia by the Irish expatriate writer living near Roma, Paddy Agnew. One of the things that really struck me was a chapter he wrote on Italian soccer scandals. The book was published right before calciopoli. And the chapter noted how every scandal/faux-scandal in Italy starts the same way: claims and accusations, articles printed in newspapers, murky follow up by the sporting agencies, etc.

It pretty much spelled out the exact process that calciopoli would follow just months after the book hit the presses.

    Good book that.

Has to be kept in mind throughout the book that, if memory serves, Agnew is an Inter fan, though.

I thought he was a Roma fan. But whatever the case, he didn't really like Juventus.

Still a decent writer though. Always read his World Soccer dispatches.
