Calciopoli: Inter were “helped”
Friday 4 December, 2009
The Calciopoli trial in Naples has thrown up another sensational headline with a linesman claiming Inter asked for help to get Ivan Cordoba's ban reduced.

Rosario Coppola revealed how in his eyes Inter put pressure on former designator Gennaro Mazzei to “soften” the suspension Cordoba received on getting sent off in a match against Venezia.

Cordoba was subsequently banned for two matches.

Having resisted attempts to get the suspension reduced, Coppola apparently fell out of favour and never ran the line again in Serie A.

“All the clubs with power, with the greater weight, they all made recommendations or signals,” he said.

Coppola also explained how some officials would try and make themselves more “visible” to directors like Leonardo Meani, who used to work for Milan, and is alleged to have tried to influence referees.

Last month, a secretary revealed how he thought the balls used to draw referees for certain matches were in fact “tricked” as they were discoloured and misshapen.

The media hates Inter now. I am sensing support for Juve.
Goal.com has just reported the same thing yet added that
Luciano Moggi's lawyer was also at the hearing, and he claims Coppola's statements to the court show that Calciopoli was used to plot Juventus' fall from grace.

"With Coppola's words we have another example that the objective was to hit Juventus and Moggi," lawyer Maurilio Pioreschi concluded."

If more stuff comes out, and subsequently more teams are involved, this could very well take down the whole league
Down the whole league?
Ask a person outside Italy what they think about the league. The league is already a sinking ship for anyone outside italy.

We might just aswell clean it up 100% and not just try and repair the gaps. And if Inter had their part in it, then they should be punished just like we were.

Its not like there is pride at stake, when eveyone else has branded the italian league as a cheat.

Charity?
Hell i would wipe my ass with 1000 pounds and send it in a sealed envelope to Moratti.

After that he will need every penny from that envelope, and he would remember the smell of my ass for his entire life.

Money well spent!

Right, as if that is ever going to happen. Too many people with a vested interest. Just like Calciopoli itself, whatever really happen we don't know, but the sanctions were arbitrary and puzzling. And that was supposed to be putting the house in order.

As long as a club has a powerful man behind them, then no, nothing is going to happen. But once Moratti and Berlusconi are gone, then information will start to leak. I guess only time will tell.

My answer will disappoint you. Because they can. Because influential people, when they are not being watched, are tempted to influence. And even if they are honest? Why, what if the other influential rival does it? Must I not defend myself?

do you think the house will ever be in order?
Of course not. Berlusconi is the prime minister, for goodness sake. How much more proof do you need that corruption is rewarded in this country?

impossible! :inter: couldn't have been involved. They are an honest club.

That's what i said all along. The decisions were fishy and if you had to punish somebody it had to be all of them.

The more relevant question is: of what? Can you honestly say you know?
That wasn't a serious line, I say it just to provoke or annoy some :p

but on a serious note, even thou I don't want to go through all that again and again, we definitely were guilty, be it match fixing, or the ones we charged for. It's funny the idea to believe we were relegated to Serie B for nothing, and all those were conspiracy and no one there could stand against these charges or defend a huge club like Juventus, and even funnier is the part that some people think all these were done with the help of current board, so that they will be in charge of this club.

Denying this is like denying holocaust, the whole world accepted it, and even our club, for that we didn't go to European courts.

In the end the evidence was circumstantial and there was never evidence for so much as a single fixed match, which is the thing that Inter fans have accused us of for years. So exactly what is the charge? You don't see to care, I do.

I don't work from the assumption that we did nothing wrong. What's clear though is that nothing particularly solid was ever presented. "Attempts to interfere". "Irregularities". Bad enough in itself I'm sure. But aside from that?

And Martin, if you were in charge of this club, in Moggi's shoes, and you were totally innocent, would you escape like he did? would you resign if you were innocent?
