Cassetti defending his agent Alessandro Moggi:

"Inter approached me when I was at Lecce when I had one year left on my contract. I met Mancini, Oriali and Branca and they told to sign a paper, soem sort of a pre-contract but without my agent Alessandro Moggi. They didn't say why. I said no because I would have been suspended for doing that."

Similar to the Suazo deal where he was asked to sign without an agreement from Cagliari's Cellino.

Yet Juve has spent the better part of the last decade in court.

I'm sick of this shit. Even in the fuckin' Argentine passport article they had to put Camoranesi's name in the list because his agent or ex-agent is involved while some others are missing. Camo as nothing to do in this but they had to right his name.

Good news, Secco is out for a month after his out of contract talks with Preziosi over Criscito. I see what the league is doing. Trying to hinder Juve's transfer work ahead of the busiest transfer month in the year (rather than charging Inter for illegally obtaining Suazo or Ronaldo's signing with the then suspended Galliani) is smart but stopping Secco is a good thing for Juventus and the league doesn't realize they just did us a favour. I never thought I'd say this but...Thank you Lega Calcio!

Secco won't be trying to sell our young stars for a month. I can sleep easier for a whole month.

Atalanta could face six-point penalty - FIGC

MILAN, July 18 (Reuters) - Serie A side Atalanta could be given a six-point penalty this season if they are found guilty of attempted match-fixing last term, the Italian soccer federation (FIGC) said on Friday.

Livorno, relegated last season, may suffer the same points deduction in Serie B if an Italian federation commission decides against them.

A ruling is expected at the start of next week, FIGC said in a statement.

Atalanta's Gian Paolo Bellini and former Livorno captain David Balleri were charged by the federation earlier this month with seeking to fix the results of the two league games between the clubs last season.

The first on Dec. 23 ended in a 1-1 draw while Atalanta won their May 4 home encounter 3-2 with a late goal. After the match some Livorno players chased their opponents into the dressing rooms.

Balleri and Bellini could face bans of three years if found guilty while Livorno brothers Antonio and Emanuele Filippini could be suspended for five months along with team mate Alessandro Grandoni for their involvement.

The clubs and the players have denied the accusations.

    WHAT A FUCKIN' JOKE!

    Livorno-Atalanta inquiry blames Balleri

Davide Balleri is the only player to be punished for the alleged collusion between Livorno and Atalanta during last season’s encounters.

Atalanta and Livorno can breath a collective sigh of relief after today’s decision from Sergio Artico’s disciplinary committee.

Prosecutor Stefano Palazzi had asked for six points to be deducted from both clubs for the coming season.

He also recommended a 42-month ban for Balleri and Gian Paolo Bellini of Atalanta and five months for Emanuele and Antonio Filippini and Alessandro Grandoni.

However, Balleri is the only player to receive any sanctions and will be banned for four months and fined £20,000.

“It was clear that there was a strong desire on the behalf of the Livorno players to try and avoid relegation whereas the Atalanta players had a lax attitude as they were already safe,” the committee’s declaration read.

“And there was inconclusive proof of an agreement between the two captains. But Balleri acted in an illegal manner by trying to find an arrangement.”

Balleri has signed for Serie C2 newcomers Como for the next two years and is hoping to overturn the decision in time to start the 2008-09 campaign at the Stadio Sinigaglia.

“I will appeal because I don’t deserve this,” Balleri stated upon hearing the verdict.
