Combine that Call with this one:

September 10 2004…

A. Moggi: …the other day, take it as an information, then I don’t know, I met up with Enrico Preziosi (former President of Genoa) as always.
L. Moggi: Uhm…
A. Moggi: He started telling me how football is changing, you must be careful of this and that, Carraro, Galliani, then he tells me not to trust Montezemolo. I ask him why? Because I overheard a conversation at Juve, they want to kick everyone out except for Giraudo.
L. Moggi: Yes, but this is bollocks!
A. Moggi: I’m telling you what I heard, since Preziosi is often in this kind of environment, he’s in it.
L. Moggi: He’s never there!
A. Moggi: Well, dad, I’m telling you because...
L. Moggi: It’s exactly the other way round.
I dont quite understand why people on the inside wanted moggi out? of course this is something that moggi has claimed for quite some time now.

Some people(Elkann...) didn't want little Andrea to take charge. Moggi was pushing for that to happen.
mark, what's your opinion about the rumour that elkann making room for andrea because the 1st one became president at fiat?
i'm guessing from what mark said that any ideas of andrea agnelli taking over is impossible.

this is like prison break, first they thought the U.S government was behind framing lincoln burrows, then realise there was a bigger influence in the company that was driving this.

Just like we had been blaming ranieri>gigli>secco>blanc>elkanns

The Montezemolo and Elkann side of the family wanted Moggi out for a long time due to overall control. Juventus is a small piece of the empire but an important one because it is lucrative and very visible. Moggi and Giraudo were protective of Juventus and refused to sign sponsorship deals with who FIAT wanted (opting for TAMOIL over FIAT, refusing sponsorships from Gazzetta, etc.). Notice that after Calciopoli, Hurra Juventus magazine had a one page Telecom ad in each issue (I cancelled my subscription as a result) and Gazzetta suddenly had sideline ads at Juve’s home games? Moggi and Giraudo also didn’t ask for Agnelli money to construct and operate the team so they refused to share the spoils with the rest of the empire. Bringing Andrea in would have continued that trend.

Now things have hit a different level. Fans are boycotting and the results are horrible despite the amount of money wasted in the market. This is why I see Elkann possibly giving Andrea space (maybe wishful thinking). The fact that he’s FIAT’s president would ultimately mean that Andrea would still be a subordinate within the company and maybe that will put Elkunt at ease.

Is (or did) Di Montezemolo leaving Ferrari/Exor?

And what is Andrea's position in the company now?

I think Andrea is an Exor consultant right now and holds various director/CEO roles at smaller companies within the IFI (FIAT Holding Co.) empire. Exor is the holding company that IFI/FIAT owns 56% of. It's complicated I know but they are all tied.

Montemerda is still the Ferrari president and will remain there. I used to follow F1. I used to love Ferrari. It's been 4 years since I've watched a race.
