So a couple of weeks ago I was at the Web 2.0 conference. One of the more interesting sessions was a panel they had of Bay Area teenagers talking about what they do every day, which is just magical information to a lot of 30- and 40-something marketing weenies who think Michael J Fox and Huey Lewis are still cool.

One of the better questions was "If you had $100, what would you spend it on?" Of course, the marketing weenies are hoping for video iPods and ringtones and the like. And while they did get answers like "ringtones", "clothes", and "saving up for a surfboard", my favorite answer was from a 17-year-old from Berkeley High School (shout out to Sir Sebastian) who said:

"Burritos and gasoline"

It's pure genius ... in its simplicity and rawness. I am shocked that there aren't tomes of writing on this. It should be a philosophy of life. A religion. Or at least a great name for an album.

So the question is: what would you do if you had $100 (or call it 100 Euro) extra to spend? And can you top burritos and gasoline?

I will start, quoting one of my favorite lines from Futurama:

Blackjack and hookers

i dont go to berkeley, i go to acalanes high school. get your shout outs right man :D

i would say gasoline, but, first of all i can't drive just yet, and second, 100$ wouldn't buy you enough gasoline to make it from my house to school (about a mile)

therefore, burritos, tiaras (i got a new one today, it has pink fuzzy stuff on it), and whatever substances needed for friday and saturday nights

Yeah, I remembered something like that. But then I figured for the rest of the world: "Close enough"! :p

I take it she didn't notice the tiara? Or is that common practice in the U.S. Customs Office? ;)

    That and the NRA.

Though it is odd that you haven't heard of any postal employees going postal lately. Somebody needs to work on that problem for Homeland Security.

how about tacos and bus tickets ;)
Oh, you Canadians and your socially conscious transportation modes. ;)

Yeah, burritos are a distinctly NorCal delicacy, btw. It's our version of the NY or Chicago pizza.
