For a while, up until ~2012 Robben was a bit of a choker, no? I remember seeing him take the pen in the 2012 final against Bayern and being certain that he'd choke it away.
You could say so, but it doesn't take away the fact he was a brilliant player, he had the ability to do something individually only a very few are capable of.
Many Bayern fans wanted him gone after the 2012 CL final, but he was far from the only one who choked that night. The whole offensive simply didn't take their chances but he got the blame for the missed penalty. But some seems to forget Schweinsteiger and Olic missed in the penalty shoot-out.
After he became the matchwinner in 2013 he never looked back. It seemed like it was what he needd to relieve himself from the pressure and mark of being a choker.
I don't think it's by accident he had some of his best years after the 2013 CL final.

Not to forget - in 2010 he almost singehandly carried us to a treble.
Scored an insane solo goal against Schalke in the DFB Pokal, scored insane solo goals against Fiorentina and United to get us through on away goals both times.
Also scored the 1-0 goal against Lyon after Ribery had been shown the red card.
In the final against Inter a lot also came from him, but that Bayern team was quite average in many positions. The team probably weren’t good enough for a CL final but got their on individual brilliance in many cases through that campaign.
In the 2010 WC and 2012 CL final he ended up as a choker, but he had a history of scoring big and important goals up to that point.
