I dont believe all that overhaul talk, it`s a massive exageration after
ONE game/one bad result. We shouldnt and we wont release too many players and also bring in just as many new faces, first - because it`s stupid, second - because we`re not in 2010/2011/2012 anymore and third - because we dont need to.
Retiring or not,
Gigi is having his last season as a #1, starting next campaign
Woj is the man in goal, period. If it is Gigi or Marchetti for 2nd choice, or Gigi and whoever else for 2nd choice, it is simple - Gigi! If he does retire, then look for a free and experienced option, also keep
Pinsoglio.
Barzagli, Licht, Asamoa... Two of them will possibly leave on free transfer, my guess is Stephan and Kwadwo, and if Andrea decides not to retire and stay for another season, he will sign a 1y contract. I wish he does decides to stay one more year, accepting the role of a last choice CB and being very active during training sessions, he is a professor of football and a master at defending, he can teach those kids a thing or two. A possible job at Allegri`s staff also comes to mind, Max already confessed he offered Gattusso an option to retire and join his staff while at Milan.
Howedes stays, Howedes goes... whatever the management decides, it`s clear that we wont pay the money agreed with Schalke as he`s with only 1 appearance so far this season, he cannot be judged, a free loan for another year or ship back to ze germans, if given a second chance and is injury free, I bet he would be motivated like hell to give his best and repay the faith, given in him. If we decide against it, wish him good luck in his next team.
I dont think
Alex Sandro will leave. His performance dropped from last season, from labelled second best LB in world football after Marcelo to being third best in Brazil squad and probably missing the world cup. Also dont see a top club being really after him, Real, Barca, Bayern... nope, Chelsea got LB, other english clubs that are said to be after him, its just paper talk. The brits will focus their attention to local kids, the one from Fulham, the next Bale, and the one from Celtic, Thierney or whatever his name is, one of them is going to Man Utd, the other one we`ll see. PSG may be an option, but they will be all over the market, their new manager already has a list of players, for sure. Sandro will leave only if he spesificly rejects new contract offer and decides to be sold, if not - he`ll stay here.
DeSciglio also is going nowhere.
Our midfield needs an upgrade, clear as a day. Dont see
Pjanic leaving, the absolute best dont need him, he doesnt need and want the Roma`s of the world,
Matuidi is here to stay also,
Khedira is a coach favourite,
Bentancur proved to be a player with a high potential, he has to be more involved next season. We need (at least) 6 (six) center midfielders in our roster, with 3 of them on the field most of the time (we are a better team with an extra body in the middle of the park, dont care if its 4-3-3, 4-3-2-1, 4-3-1-2, 4-3-1-1-1 or whatever).
Sturaro can leave, probably should have left already, and
Claudio... Eerh, I love him, have two t-shirts with number 8 at the back, my black and white cat I named after him... He`s "only" 32, he is Juve, hope he really stays injury free and gets back to his old self, he could be extremely useful both on and off the pitch, and he would be the vice-captain after Giorgio. With that being said, we need/have to splash the cash on a top central midfielder, a star, high-profile player, or a younger one with huuge potential and already a well-known name. Yes, the serbian is an excellent choice, Fabinho is also a solid player, Kovacic if a market opportunity arises
, etc. Main point is - a star CM is wanted, a starter who can add to what we have here and help take it to another level, and those players cost money, sometimes a lot of it, the management should be prepared and provide a solid portion of our budget for that. This should be the main target this summer.
Our flanks are interesting, at our back four we will add to Alex Sandro and DeSciglio a decent and useful player like Spinazzola, we could use an upgrade on Mattia, but his name is not Darmian, that much I know. Finding a solid right back is job number two for Beppe and co, Hysaj is the only one in Serie A who is good enough to start for Juventus, if he`s out of touch, then look abroad. Wingers - Dougie is good, Berna is excitement, Cuads is... awesome on his day, tragic when having an off day... Useful player to have in the squad, but should be a back-up for DC/Bernardeschi. Mario is a true soldier, just like Sandro he had a better season last campaign, if he stays at the club, he should be only a back-up striker, enough with the LW sheit. If he leaves, a replacement should arrive, who - I dont care. Pjaca should be tested and given a chance in preseason, he`s absolutely not impressive at Schalke but he did impress at the Euro two years ago, he can do it again in Russia. He can be used in several positions, he`s got some talent, can become a good player and all, but he can also be sacrifficed if a stupid offer comes for him, same with Cuads I think, but Cuads is almost 30, Pjaca is 22, he can be hyped to the sky, I`m sure if there are offers for him, they will be carefully evaluated.
Higuain stays,
Dybala... I`ll be surprised if he is sold. Same for Sandro applies to Paulo also - is he even going to the world cup? How is he a 150+ mil rated player and not good enough to be amongst the 23-player squad for the World Cup? Our 24 soon to be 25 year old kid with huge potential is not exactly setting the world on fire and even if I laugh at the news linking him to Atletico M for example, truth is that Atletico M is what Dybala`s level is right now. He is not going to Barca, he is not going to Real, I doubt that Bayern would want him, Juventus is the best that Paulo can hope and aim for, considering all football-related stuff, and if money is what he actually wants more, then there`s always the english clowns and PSG, China is also very attractive these days... Just finish the season, take a good vacation, relax, then get your sheit together and start acting like the superstar that you really could be! Your first month, month and a half this season is how you should perform on a regular basis, not once in a blue moon. Grow up and be a leader of this team, be the superstar and move the club forward! Or...
