the last one will be a versatile attacking player that can play all 4 or atleast 3 attacking positions in our 4231. if we go to the CL final and with some good sales (Coman, Zaza, Lemina etc) we might have the power to go for a star player like Jjames, di Maria, Douglas Costa, or if we cant sing any of those go for Serie A talent like Bernardeschi, Anderson, Keita or the forgotten one, Berardi. the question is, who do we sell to make place for this player. candidates are Benatia (will most likely be bought and stay), Rincon (signed 6 months ago, not sure we will sell him before January or next summer), Sturaro (signed new contract, unlikely to leave) and Asamoah (best chances out of the ones mentioned imo, since we have his position(s) covered even without him).

di Marias current wages are around 9M gross, Sanchez has around 8.5M gross. Difference is, Sanchez can ask for much higher wages with the season he had, and top english clubs being as rich as they are. Now whos gonna give di Maria anything over 6M net, especially since he already "flopped" in EPL?

I bet if you marry there won't be a party either. Money's better spent on the mortgage. Right?

I'm sure he currently earns less than Higuain. Hence we could offer him a raise, competing for CL and coming back to Italy. I don't say he would run here but if we were interested, he would surely consider our offer.
he currently earns around the same as Pjanic does (around 4.5M net), but doesent mean he cant ask for twice that much now, with a season like he had behind him. every EPL top club would be happy to give him 9M or more im sure. also, with Dybala and Higuain both on 7.5M net, i dont think we will give that much to another player, without any major earner leaving the club

In China he would probably get 18 mln, does it mean he would go there? Salary is not the only factor. It is important but it's not like we would be offering half compared to other competitors. Signing Alexis would also give us exposure and maximize our chances of reaching late stages of the CL = money.

why would an athlete in his prime go to China though? hes not that desperate for money, he will take the best offer he gets from a EPL contender (Chelsea maybe, when they sell hazard), which will be a lot more than we would be willing to give. we already have top earners in Higuain and Dybala, Bonucci isnt far off at 5M, Pjanic 4.5M etc. we are about to give a new contract to AS, there is no room nor any need for us to give someone Dybala and Higuain level wages at the moment, or even higher than that, which would be necessary to sign Sanchez it seems. di Maria at 5-6M is more realistic if PSG really does want to sell

GK: Neto is perfect as backup, but IF he wants to leave, signing another backup gk shouldn't be a problem. Can be a potential Gigi replacement (Meret or whoever else), who'd learn from Gigi, become acclimated with the team, and let us evaluate him for a yr....or just sign your avg backup.

Defense: Think signing benatia is just a formality with Bayern. Only thing missing is a third option for lb.

CM: This player needs to be content with competition for places, needs to have physical qualities that khedira/pjanic/marchisio don't, needs to be able to play as AM, and has to be good in the air. We're always poor at defending set pieces for 1-2 months every season (since Conte's time) before it gets fixed. If you remove Mandzukic and Khedira from the lineup, we'll have that problem. Plus, with pjanic's deliveries we need to maximize scoring from set pieces.

Attack:. Right now, in terms of the characteristics of the players, it's the perfect combo with a CF who contributes defensively and can show to the ball and switch play, playmaker (dybala), hardworking winger who scores a few goals (Mandzukic), and a dribbler who can take players on (Cuadrado). Quality-wise, need to improve on Cuadra. Need someone with his speed and dribbling but someone with consistency and DA's crossing and final balls. The others, including Mandzukic, are untouchable.

And a backup for Mandzukic. One of these two players needs to be able to play as striker.

If spinazzola is good enough, he can be the reserve for all the flank positions: 3rd choice lb/rb, lw/rw, lwb. Alternatively, sign de sciglio.

Sign Meret, Schick, and other players with potential and loan them out along with bentancur.

-------------Buffon
Alves--Bonucci-Chiellini--Sandro
--------Pjanic--Khedira/Tolisso

-------------Higuain

Backup:
--------------Neto
Conti--Barzagli-Rugani--Spinazzola

Also in rotation: Benatia, Kean, Asamoah.

In my eyes a realistic and wonderful mercato.

Quality central midfielder
Quality wide attacker
Potential star
Young talent for an ageing position

Change the players around but it's basically how our mercato should look in the summer if common sense prevails. I think we might go under the radar a bit though unless something fantastic presents itself.

Spinazzola
Midfielder
Wide Player

Out
Lichtsteiner

Take Pjaca off CL list until January. In January if nobody is injured sell Rincon or Sturaro to make room on the CL list for Pjaca.

Also loan out our youngsters and buy more youngsters.

Will Betancur, Spinazola, Mandragora counted as U20? Think we might need some for in next season CL list. Because our number already stacked at defense and midfield.

Bentancur and Mandragora count as U21, because at the start of the calendar year they still havent turned 21 years old. Spinazzola doesent count (hes 23-24 lol), he could count as a homegrown player for Serie A. for the CL hes just a regular squad member
