Agree...think it is hard to find a central pairing who is strong to compete with quality midfields who boast 3 quality players.
and it's so easy leave out Kulu and get another midfield like Barella. One who was like Vidal running, tackling and with a good passing vision and scoring ability

I dunno who or what we can get this summer seeing how bad our finances are.
Unless both Dybala (contract running out) and Ronaldo (wanting to leave) leave this summer we don't have much financial muscles to flex around.

If we can make a fantasy XI I know who I would get but realistically?
Realistically we should leave out those players worth 30 or more milions.
We should look for those in the range of 20

Out
Ronaldo 29m (31m wage)
Dybala 40m (7.5m wage)
Szczesny 35m (7m wage)
Alex Sandro 20m (6m wage)
Ramsey 15m (7.5m wage)
Bentancur 20m (2.5m wage)
Bernardeschi 20m (4m wage)
Morata end of loan (4.5m wage)
Bonucci 0 (6.5m wage)
Chiellini 0 (4m wage)

In
De Sciglio 0 back from loan (3m wage)
Rugani 0 back from loan (3m wage)
Pellegrini 0 back from loan (1.4m wage)
Perin 0 back from loan (2.5m wage)
Depay 0 ends of contract (4m wage)
Sergio Ramos 0 ends of contract (7m wage)
Douglas Costa 0 back from loan (6m)
Aouar 40m (4m wage)
Verratti 55m (8m wage)
Son 70m (8m wage)
Halaand 75m (12m wage)
Traorè 18m (1.4m wage)
Fagioli 0 (0.1m wage)

I know Haaland release clause of 75 will be active only from 2022 summer but this is simply a fantasy XI

Considering this season links I expect us to look like this:
Woj; Gosens MDL Danilo Cuadrado;Mck Locatelli RDP Chiesa;Ronaldo Aguero

Out:
Rabiot - Swap with Kean
Dybala - Sacrificed for 60M
A.Sandro - 25M
MDS - 10M
Ramsey - 15M
Total: 110M

In:
Rovella (already signed)
Gosens 35M
Locatelli 40M
RDP 35M
Aguero 0 transfer fee
Kean - swap with Rabiot
Total spent: 110M

0 in spending

Not saying this is the transfer campaign I want to see but this is how things look right now..

Add in getting a bit of money from Pellegrini, Costa, Rugani, and MDS and maybe we push for one more player?

Nobody is going to spend 60 mill on Dybala, not in these current climates at least. With the exception of Chelsea last summer, I don't recall any other clubs spending big amounts I suspect a similar trend again this summer.

I do think there are clubs that can find this for Dybala is they believe they can transform him into a superstar similar to what Liverpool did with Salah.
Anyway I dont want him out as I think he could be amazing under the right coach and someone like Gasperini could definietly make it happen.

Thing is Dybala is already 27 he's effectively meant to be at his peak already. Salah moved to Liverpool when he was 23/24 and has been pretty much consistent ever since
