I downloaded mozilla and I dont see what the big fuss is all about. I was expecting something new and great. Its the same only alittle slower and I had to install plugins again :groan:

A lot of the features of Mozilla are under the hood, and don't try to be flash or in-your-face e.g. have you seen a popup since you installed Moz? There's a whole bunch of addons you can install easily that make browsing so much easier. I'll take tabbed browsing over 100 IE windows any day of the week; the list goes on...

everything you said there is right...exept the addons.


-half the poeple have no clue about them,
-you have to install them
-you have to update them
-what happens when they update the browser? you have to get addons all over again.


that said on pop-up blocking (the most important ) mozilla is miles ahead. its just that firefox is not for everyone.

Well considering that about 99% of the population has no clue about Mozilla in the first place, you'd expect Moz users to be a bit more open-minded than that

That's true. It's fairly annoying. I'm sure there's a bunch of stuff you could export/backup, but AFAIK there's no easy way of saving your settings and installed addons.

Actually, you probably have to install the extensions again, provided they are compatible with the new browser version. But any settings for those extensions are stored in your user dir, so those are preserved.
