Buffon to wait for Juve sentence before deciding future

TURIN, Italy (AFP) - Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has said he will wait until after a possible sentence against his club Juventus before deciding on his future.

The World Cup winning goalie spoke during a visit to former teammate Gianluca Pessotto, who is recovering in hospital after an attempted suicide last month.

Juventus are at the heart of the Italian match-fixing scandal and face possible relegation to the second or third division.

"I will wait for the sentence by the sports tribunal (on Friday or Saturday) before making a decision, now is not the time," said Buffon.

Buffon,Cannavaro,Zambrotta,Camoranesi. Our Italian core we must to keep,no metter what is the price!!!!!

im down with that.....i really could care less about emerson and vieira and ibrah. It would be smart to keep 1 forsure and maybe 2, and get the rest on loan for 1 or 2 years.

Exactly,we must be very careful, because that could be our biggest mistake.
Loaning or keeping, depends much on our final status,so if we even get relegated,we must get some money from the transfers and I would definitely earn some from Emerson,Vieira,Ibrahimovic...

Defenders and attackers cost more than defenders and last less,
we sound consider their contracts, their current price and form, their future prospects and ofcourse their will...

In-demand Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon is set to shun a move to The Premiership in favour of staying in Italy.

The Italy World Cup winner has been linked with a move to Arsenal following Juventus' relegation to Serie B.

With Germany keeper Jens Lehmann nearing the end of his illustrious career Arsene Wenger is scouring the market for possible replacements.

While Buffon has conceded there is a chance he could end up in London, his priority is to remain in Serie A - with Milan now favourites to secure his signature.

"His first priority is to continue to play in Italy," explained Buffon's agent Silvano Martina to the Guardian.

"He likes London as a possible destination but his desire is to continue in Serie A."

Martina has previously stated his client will definitely leave the Old Lady should they be relegated from Italy's top-flight.

SKY says that when Secco heard that Abbiati was going to Torino he immediately told Milan to forget about Gigi.

Secco will talk to Gigi and try to convince him to stay.
