he will make a nice duet with giorgio !!

i've seen him with serbia in euro 2008 qualificaions + i've seen some videos on utube !

i don't trust on legro. .. mellberg is good for subtitutions only

we need a central defender as soon as possible ,

ivanovic or lugano are good enough and won't cost a wealth !!
Melberg is one of the most underated defenders in the world. Hes quite good, definatly on par with a fit andrade.

Juve In London For Ivanovic
Juventus management has reportedly touched down in London today in an effort to secure the services of 24 year old centre back Branislav Ivanovic from Chelsea...

Recent reports have linked Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic with a move to the Bianconeri. Now, it appears that the mooted deal is close to becoming reality.

The player has failed to settle in London and has refused to close the door on a possible summer exit. With Chelsea looking to rebuild and offload dead wood, a switch from Stamford Bridge to the Turin giants would appear to be a win-win situation.

Now, reports suggest that a travelling troupe of Juve reps have touched down in London with a view to forcing through the potential transfer in person.

The Juve backline has been at the centre of much criticism so far this season, with many believing that Giorgio Chiellini is the only reliable defender in the squad.

Injuries have also added to coach Claudio Ranieri's problems. New signing Dario Knezevic is clearly struggling, with others finding it difficult to reach peak physical condition.

Reports state that the Bianconeri are prepared to make a bid of €5million for the Chelsea man - a fee which could be enough to pry him from the Blues' clutches. It is clear that the Serbian defender doesn't figure in the plans of new Chelsea gaffer Felipe Scolari.

I really hope this is true..

I always wanted this guy in juve, i know he's great and i've watched lot of games for him back when he was in russia. But i think we don't need him anymore right now in juve unless we sell some defenders.

I mean we already have 5 CB's currently in the team plus criscito who is out on loan so thats 6 its just too many. And ivanovic is great as a CB he's just average as a RB, so its bitter to stick with zebina and grygera than getting him for that position.....

Ivanovic is much better than Salihamidzic anywhere in the defence, centre, left side or right side, he would definetly be an improvement on the bench, and maybe even in starting eleven. but i dont see why chelsea should sold him, he is a decent backup for their injury prone CB`s, and if we consider the ridicilous amount of money, its obvius that these "reports" are pure bs.

Maybe he thinks he's good enough not to be a back-up and if Scolari made it clear that Terry, Carvalho AND Alex are all in front of him in the pecking order, he requested a transfer.
Scolari also called back Alves from PSV and probably he plans to use the Brasilian as the 4th Cb.
With Bosingwa, Belletti and Ferreira the Rb is also well covered (Scolari will certainly use the Portuguese Rb's in front of Ivanovic) and, as you can see, there is absolutely no way for Ivanovic to get regular playing time.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was Ivanovic himself who requested a transfer and if Scolari also told Abramovich that he doesn't count much (or at all) on Ivanovic then the transfer rumors are really logical and Ivanovic could leave for peanuts (especially if there aren't many teams interested in him).

Top post. Couldn't agree any more.

i don't know him but there must be a reason why he's not even benched for chelsea. I mean he's 24, it's about time to gain international reputation if he's such a gifted defender... But again; i don't know him, and i can't say if he's worth it. Another question is if we really need another backup-player... i'm all for a young RB/CB, but i don't know if it's the right time now.

Something's brewing that's for sure. Is it Ivanovic signing for us? boh! Some guy over at VS says something big is happening.

Time for a new poll. :D
