The Brooklyn Follies by Paul Auster, i love these kind of stories, Paul Auster is my new fav. the story is from inside of life.. simple, warm and intriguing.

The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly, very good detective novel indeed, it was beyond from my expectations, if i find time, i'll see the movie tonight!

Being in the hospital for a week, I actually read a couple of books after a loooooong time. Some 10 years ago I was reading a book a week, at least...nowadays I just couldn't be bothered. Anywho, my Mom gave me "The Kite Runner" and I read it in 2 days...was really hooked, don't think I've ever cared about characters so much.

I'm actually looking into buying a Kindle now to sort of "force" myself back into reading. Anybody have one? Is it good?

My wife has talked a lot about "The Kite Runner". She also recommends his other book, "A Thousand Splendid Suns"

Does anyone here use a Kindle? I am thinking of getting one after using one. I usually prefer paper to a screen like the iPad but the kindles screen really impressed me.

Hi mikhail,
Started reading "murder on the orient express" after finishing "The ABC murders"
I am a big fan of Agatha Christie and love reading her mysteries novels.

Yes, I have it and I use it quite a bit. On the whole it's good for what it's meant for. Battery life is quite good, the contrast on the page is excellent so you can read in sunlight etc. It's a bit sluggish but for an ereader that's not so important.

I studied the Kite Runner in my last year at high school. Didn't enjoy it but I guess no one enjoys novels they study.

What did you conclude from your studies?
The themes appeared simple to me compared to the other books and movies on offer which I chose instead mainly because there was more to right about. I instead decided to write on Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, 'Shark Net', and 'A Man For All Seasons'.

The Kite Runner is about redemption, forgiveness, identity and self-understanding through the eyes of Amir the protagonist who's troubled childhood haunts him throughout the entire 'journey'.

I was surprised at the meagerness of the redemption. Most books of this kind give you a stronger sense of relief. But Amir, after all that he had done, does the bare minimum by raising this kid and that makes everything alright? Hardly.

A Dance With Dragons, Part V of George R. R. Martin's A Song Of Ice and Fire -- which the show, Game of Thrones is based on-- comes out tomorrow. I have to wait about 2 weeks for it though
