The best advice is to pursuade a buddy to come with u in the gum,
help and motivate u...and make a solid schedule,
forget about the mass, think about ur heart and take advantage of ur enhanged stamina in every day life use...

I don't believe that at all. I consider myself pretty healthy(or at least pretty strong!) and I can't do that.

Well if your muscles are not used to that kind of pressure you would need some time to break them into it. but trust me it's not that hard to bench your weight. I'm actually getting close to enching twice my weight (1 rep).

Well, if it's 1 rep we're talking about I think I can push a bit more than my own weight. Yet I never do 1 rep, because don't have a spotter.

what exactly is core training? ive heard it but not about it. Please fill me in.:)

core training is about training the part of your body where all your strength and motion comes from- your midsection...meaning your abdomen, hips and mid to lower back

all your power comes from there...whether your swinging a bat, throwing a punch, or kicking a soccer ball

your legs also play an important role, but its your core which give you POWER !!!

since I've done this program, I've gotten much stronger with the weights, stronger on the field...and faster !!!

get the book- Core Performance by Mark Vestergen (he trains Mia Hamm, Nomar Garciapara, and other pro athletes)

That's not true at all. Actually benching doesn't reallyt tell anything about your health because you don't need to work on your chest muscles (sorry, didn't bother to find proper translation) when doing "normal" jobs. I believe that Cooper's test is much more reliable indicator of health. :)

It's not a health test, no, but an injured or sick man will not be able to lift as much as a healthy one. That's all it meant.

thanks for clatifying my point. For some reason it seems people in the US are all about bench press, we used to have comps in HS. I read an article about this guy who can bench 900 lbs easy  Thats sick.
