I read that "Sports courts" are not really courts or part of the judiciary at all, they're more like a committee of football administrators so there is a revolving door between them and clubs and journalists, and its highly political.

The surprise is not that they happen to be fans of one club or another. Ofc they are, everyone in Italy supports one of the big clubs and is probably a fanatic. I imagine the English FA members too are Pool or City or United or Arsenal fans thats not disqualifying nor evidence of prejudice on it own.

What is surprising and disqualifying is the extent to which they show fanaticism in such a public manner, declaring judgments ahead of investigations etc.. they're not trying to be or even trying to appear fair.
They are indeed separate and very often the amateurism shows.

While most of the time these sports tribunals have lawyers in them, there are various ways in which the rights of parties are better protected in actual courts. I'm also not a fan of lawyers becoming judges, because lawyers are partial their entire lives (they defend one party) and judges are supposed to be impartial. It's simply not natural for a lawyer to be impartial.

I agree that the mere fact that they are fans of a certain club does not preclude them from deciding over certain matters. Everyone is a fan. But when you make statemens saying you are against those thieving sons of bitches of Juventus, you obviously can't decide a case where Juventus are accused of financial wrongdoing. I myself could probably judge more or less fairly when it comes to Atalanta or even Napoli, but intellectual honesty would require me to say that I cannot be anywhere near impartial if it comes to Inter. Inter are the only club I hate and if they were to perish tomorrow I would drive to Appiano Gentile and salt the earth of the training ground so that they may never rise again.

That these people did not feel the need to step aside on their own shows they have no moral integrity whatsoever.

On Thursday there was the first technical round table meeting between the Government, FIGC and the League to standardise a law regarding capital gains so that they can justify sanctions against serie a clubs. The paradox is that a law is discussed but Juve have already been punished in advance by it. [Tuttosport)
that's the best part. first punish juve then create the legislation. like roman law, the basis of most modern judiciary systems was already forgotten by the people whose ancestors created it.

Serie A is fucked if they put a law on capital gains, there are clubs who literally survive on this method. Oh well fuck em the league is already dead without it

Francesco Calvo, Juve’s CFO, met with leaders in football politics to understand the possibilities of Juventus’ outcome at the CONI college of guarantee. It’s possible that CONI will send the case back to the court of appeal to ask them to reduce the -15 points.
The goal is to only receive a maximum of five points penalized to Juve, four less then Chine original request of nine points (@tvdellosport)

We have launched a study on a phenomenon that everyone says happens, but if it does, I don't think the state can recognize the existence of “made up” capital gains."

I have this image in my head I can't seem to shake.

It's the day of the hearing for whatever grand sports tribunal decides our case (honestly I can't even remember which is which). The entire Italian football world is there. Every president, every sports director of every club wants to see what will go down. Everyone expects Juventus to send a battery of lawyers. The best of the best. They expect to see men in impeccable suits ready for battle. Ready for war.

But there are no lawyers.

It's you. Just you. Juventus have sent you. You in your little Jj tracksuit.
