I agree with all those who don't want that, me too, I am an outdoors guy and I want to enjoy the summer in the nature not watching football.

It'll never go through, but the idea of never having to go out and train in the cold pouring rain ever again is mouthwatering :D.

What about countries such as Italy and Spain anyway? Blatter wants to have leagues in August there? That can't be healthy.

Ahhh, this is Blatter speaking, right?

Meaning: I give as much credibility to this as I do to the sounds emanating from my one-year-old nephew's diaper.

Blatter just wants all Zidane all the time. We can just subscribe him to the "Zidane Channel" and be done with it, and we can go back to watching football without his idiocy.

Yeah, I didnt realize that it took such an effort to gear (I mean literally) yourself and play the game on Sunday morning until recently. Last Sunday was terrible (A gust of wind and rain) - couldnt predict where the ball was going. And it seems you cant get away from cold rain and muddy pitch in Britain.

Obviously Blatter hasnt kicked a ball during the summer in Japan. He would get a heart attack with that fat belly of his. I am kind of used to it but its never a pleasant feeling. And imagine telling Africans to play the game on mid summer. I think they will have a good laugh about it.:howler: . Summer is for beach and tanning yourself.

Do you think he'd notice that it's on repeat?

Leave the schedule as it is, I say.

Football is good as it is, why people insist on changing shit all the time ? :D

    I agree with Martin

The general solution doesnt necessarily tackle the real problem of modern game - too many matches - especially too many meaningless domestic matches with teams that doesnt deserve top flight game. Personally I would like to see all the domestic league contracted down to 16. I am not too sure as to whether it is possible juggle around the schedule to solve the problem.:undecide: .

My general view is the solution is designed not to release the pressure on players but to improve the general quality of international matches which has been questioned in last 8 years or so due to to players tiring out. Its like "you look tired for international matches and I tell you what. Get some rest before you start making money for FIFA and other Football Governing Bodies".

As for the domestic quota - that is actually one of few good things that came out of that old fart.
I like the idea of 16 teams per national competition. Johan Cruyff suggested that a while ago.

Also: every nation should only have one cup competition, maximum. And teams involved in European competitions should flow into the domestic cup competition once those have reached the quarter finals (or best 16, depending on how many teams a league has in Europe). Those two measures kill matches of top clubs against amateur/minor outfits that nobody needs to see.

For once. I agree with every single word you said here.:D .

It nice to know a true great like Cruyff agrees with me. .

But yeah I 1100% agree. The main problem IMO is that there are just too many bad matches. Teams like Chiveo, Messina, Ascoli shouldnt be in Serie A. Its also putting pressure on teams with deeper depth and thus giving likes of Chelsea and Inter far more advantage than say ManUre and Roma (Chelsea will win it this year IMO, their backups are unbelievably good).

Limit the games and also introduce some roster space that Prandelli (truly intelligent man IMO) argued about. Such a measure will encourage teams to develop youngsters, introduce more parity within the game, and less strain on existing players.
