Think of it this way, we pray 5 times a day. In each prayer we recite random chapters from the Quran. Imagine millions of people over 1400 years reciting this little book over and over again everyday. The Qur'an is not something we have on the shelve. It's used and heard everyday.

Unfortunately I memorize only suras from An-Nas to Ad-Dhuha and some suras after that, and of course just some popular verses from the Quran such as Baqara's first passages and of course Yassin. Out of curiousity, what about you?

I go for Tajweed lessons and my teacher is that Head of the Hafiz (Haffuz? Tahfiz? I forgot my saraf lessons ) in Malaysia... Best teacher I've ever had.

Mashallah. That's still good. specially that Arabic is not your native language. Keep it up.

Like you, commonly recited verses here and there, in addition to the 85% of the suras from Al-Nas to Al-Rahman. Although I'd still need to read many of them a few times to refresh my memory! :embarass:

I should know more....

As for Tjweed, I have a terrible voice, so that's never works out!
