Thanks for the analysis Fahad. Either you are too generous with 8's or we had an awesome game.
No problem.

I'm telling you the team was just great .. it was like us playing against Como or Lecce .. we totally dominated their midfield and looked good at the attack .. our defence also looked solid and kept Sheva and Pippo at bay .. couldn't have asked more from Juve, it was just perfect ..

It's official, DEL PIERO is back !!

I was highly impressed as I watched Juve dump Milan (yet again) and make it 3/3, only this time it was in their own backyard and infront of their own fans and president. We outclassed them and played with more concentration which gave us the upper hand. The team work was just amazing and this match is promising of what is yet to come from Juve.

BUFFON - Another great performance from our guardian. He was very decesive and blocked a couple of dangerous shots early on and throughout the match that could've easily changed the result. (8/10)

THURAM - Average game. He was solid in the back but didn't push forward much, it was clear he was also short in fitness as he was substituted for Birindelli in the second half. (6.5/10)

LEGROTTAGLIE - Perfect mach. Very commanding role and looks very comfortable now in our back line. Pippo and Sheva had trouble penetrating our defence because of him and Montero. (8/10)

MONTERO - Same as Legro, had a great game but wasn't as involved as him. (7/10)

ZAMBROTTA - Looked very much better than the mini-matches in the TIM Cup .. he certainly put that behind him and returned to his old self. Did well attacking with a couple of neat passes and crosses and also defended well. Great match !! (8/10)

CAMORANESI - As usual tried he tried to open up the defence with his nice dribbles and runsand created some chances. He also scored our winning goal but it has to be said he wasn't very involved in some stages of the game. (8/10)

APPIAH - I was suspecious of his real ability in our previous friendlies, but now he has proved to be one of the best midfielders out there. Defended well and that threaded pass to Del Piero was just awesome. He also tried to score from a fierce shot but it went out wide. (8.5/10)

TACCHINARDI - I like his consistency in matches and he continued to prove to everyone why he deserves a place in the Azzurri shirt with a nice performance. Good tackles and nice passes throughout the match. (7.5/10)

NEDVED - Another good match from Neddy even though he wasn't as involved and lively as usual. He slowed down a notch especially after we scored our first goal, but combined well with Trezeguet to create the second goal scored by Camo. (7/10)

TREZEGUET - It was his turn to have an off-night. Not a single real chance to threat Dida with. He was simply disappointing. (5.5/10)

DEL PIERO - Alex finally showed everyone what he's really made of. A great match that made his fans proud, topped off with a cool finish that earned us our first goal. Del Piero shrugged off his bad form and left his mark in the match this time with a highly impressive performance, Way to go Alex !! (8.5/10)
Well... I haven't seen the match but reading the newspapers I see that your comments are a bit too exagerate :D

This is from Gazzetta:

Buffon 6,5
Garre save on Seedorf ans very sure all the match
Thuram 6
Take care of his area and also help in attackk
Birindelli 6
He enter and he give a good goal oportunity to Di Vaio
Le Grottaglie 6,5
He has to take care of Pippo and Sheva but he has no problem and schow a lot of personality
Montero 6,5
Also 4 the next season Juve can count on him
Zambrotta 6,5
He "eated Cafù" on that side
Tacchinardi 6
A "clean match" to celebrate the retourn in the NT
Appiah 7
Grate assist 4 Del Piero goal, a "number 10" idea, and he fight on every ball as a "number 4". The guy has the skill and looks like he will be often in the stating 11.
Tudor sv
Camoranesi 6
The goal save a without colour match
Davids 6
He has to be scare of Appiah 4 his place in the titolars
Nedved 7
He missed an easy goal but his prestation make Lippi know that the best Nedved is coming
Del Piero 6,5
A very nice goal and just 4 it we give him one point more than he may deserve. His prestation is no color, he make the action becoming slow in his side. Didn't do anything remarkable a part from the goal.
Trezeguet 6
The idea is that this new attackk form do not fit him cause the 3 back look more 4 some pesonal action than serving him. At one time he get bored so he run away on the left with the ball and buid the occasion of the second goal
Di Vaio 6
Looks activewant to schow that the NT may need him

On the contrary, those newspaper ratings are very strict .. I mean they would only give an 8 if a player scored a hat-trick and had a perfect game !!

According to them:

'Zambrotta ate Cafu' and only got a 6.5 ??

'Legrottaglie took care of Pippo and Sheva, showed a good personality' deserves a 6.5?

'Appiah performed like a #10 player in attack and a #4 player in defence' and deserves a 7 ??

Please ...

Del Piero was all over the place .. he did some good moves and even defended back .. scored a nice goal, won 'Most Valuable Player' award and still gets critisized??

I don't get it !!

you see the game when 99% of people on this forum can't......then you don't give the commentary.during the game.....and you gloat about it by giving the ratings and sharing it to people who haven't seen the game..that's cruel imo.

Your opinion counts but I think you are totally on the wrong. To give a commentary is not compulsory. And to term a match review as gloating is simply outrageous don't even go to cruel labelling - You way off the mark dude.
I for one didn't watch the game & totally appreciated Fahad's review.

I'm not saying dp_forever was wrong in giving the ratings for the match which we all didn't see. I'm saying that it felt cruel to me.
How can I judge whether those ratings are correct or not ?
Its sad for me....but I don't blame or point my finger to anyone.

Got your point :) It's just that your words sounded a bit harsh in the previous post. Normally the ratings give us an indication of how the game was perceived by the viewer. That is why we get different ratings from different people. To me Fahad's ratings indicate we had a positive game.

It's sad for most of us when we can't view a Juve game and that is why we rely upon commentaries, ratings, reviews & discussions.

I was watching the match with friends in a public place .. how was it possible for me to give commentary to you guys in the forums ?? I didn't know that 99% of you didn't get to watch the match because that's a shame .. I didn't like our previous performances in pre-season but had a smile after this match and was deeply satisfied with what I watched .. Juve made me proud in front of my Inter and especially Milan friends watching with me ..

About the ratings, I wasn't gloating .. Absolutely not .. I didn't even know that many of you guys didn't actually watch it .. I usually write those ratings after every Juve match that I get to see to give my view of the players in the match , some agree with it others don't .. maybe it's a bad idea to do it afterall ;)

Juve are being heavily praised in Italy after this friendly and are being tipped as 'sole' favourites to win the Scudetto .. now you have two options: 1)Be happy about it and believe in your team 2) Still be suspecious because you didn't get to watch the game ..

juvelogy next time either invest in a Sky satellite or on a plane ticket :D

Can't get on dpforever's back just cos he offered his ratings and opinions. I did not get to see the match, only the detailed highlights on Rai, so reading his comments was quite interesting :)

Oh btw, in Italy, anything over 6.5 is considered as a really good grade cos they're quite harsh on ratings (I learnt this after years playing their fantacalcio :D). So all those juve ratings sound pretty good from the gazzetta.
