Tacchinardi was terrible in his last season under Lippi also. Zanetti is much better nowadays(Zanetti is a more complete player), Paro and Marchisio offer different characteristics. Giannichedda is more or less the same. Gratitude is another thing, I also like Tacchinardi, but he wouldn't add much or anything at all to our side. He might return, with his loan stint coming to an end, but he certainly won't (and shouldn't)be a starter.
Giannichedda is useless in Serie A... we have already seen that after last season. And I certainly do not want us employing two defensive midfielders in the same starting eleven in a straight 4-4-2 formation. I have had enough Capello nightmares in my sleep and I don't want yet another reoccuring before my own eyes any time soon.

Tacchinardi is, was and always will be a superior player to someone like Giannichedda, however you're right when you say we have to move on.

As for Beckham, he really is one of my least favorite players in this world, however I cannot be biased and say I would refuse to take the player on a FREE transfer. We have to look at both the positives and negatives here, people, and I see more positives when we acquire this overrated player on a free. As somebody already alluded to, just the money from selling Beckham shirts to those dazed and confused football know-nothings in Asia would come close to paying his wages. Moreover, we could really use somebody who can take free kicks on Juventus because we haven't really had a freekick specialist in quite a while. Such a player would be very valuable when we are trying to reinstate ourselves with the best of Serie A and Europe.

Obviously Beckham will never play for Juventus, however we should continue to look for the best deals possible.

I don't know if I agree with you, Andy. This is a squad that is worried about bleeding salary money, and even with a free transfer Becks has his wardrobe budget expectations. His haircut allowance alone could fund Zanetti's salary for a season.

I think he'd make a nice player for his experience and set pieces prowess. But I don't see the economics working out even on a free transfer... even if he might sell a few more zebra jerseys to Asians (many of whom might buy unlicensed Thai knock-offs anyway).

Becks is a monger of penis.
Thanks, Burke. I forgot to add that:

And Becks cabana boy allowance alone could rebuild the delle Alpi.

I think the proper word in Spain he's learned is "chapero" ("strichjunge" for you German types ;)).

If Beckham does come, I wonder who'd take our FKs let's say from 27 meters? :eyebrows:

The better of the two: Beckham.

I would welcome him to our side, he is a player who always tries his best and still has many a good year in front of him.

It would also be a joy to hear him speaking Italian.

But then again, is Beckham really that bad of a player? I mean, surely he is superior to Giannichedda, Marchionni and a couple other midfielders we have at the moment. Of course, the only way we would employ Beckham is if he met OUR wage demands, as this club cannot incur yet another astronomical wage figure in it's books. That's party why I said Beckham at Juventus would never happen.

Becks is indeed overrated by some, however he still is a useful. And this is coming from me... leader of the Anti-Beckham Union, the American chapter.

Becks would be good enough as a starter, no question. Even if he could require something less than his current $7.6MM US salary, I would just hope we don't relieve a Vieira experience.

Schweinteiger would a nice addition too by replacing Nedved on the left flank. But he wont come. He's brilliant IMO.
:agree:

Schweini is exactly the replacement for Neddy... too bad we won´t see him... :frown:

Anyway, Beckham won´t join Juve, he will go to some English club to rediscover his touch, IMO he is made for Premier League.

You're being too harsh on him. He was an important piece in the machinery of both Udinese and Lazio. Obviously he's not Juve starter material, but he's definitely able to play well in Serie A. Not like he was really given a chance under Capello, was he?
