Fab, I just joined this thread because I saw the sage of Delphi was in (Serge), so I am really hoping your list was of bands you hate. I don't want to be mean, but that list sucks. I would rather be beaten with a hammer than listen to music by that list of peeps.

That list isnt necesarily (sp?) artists that I like, those are just randoms that ocurred to me. I know the list sucks, but I gotta promote it anyways!!!

Technically glenn, the thread hasn't been ruined because the battle hasn't started yet.

Since the final groups weren't selected, I don't think that there is a problem with other people contributing their lists.

    Well the list I like is that of USA Juventini, but with Coldplay and Oasis instead of Tool and The Pretenders. But I'm not just going to choose the list myself as everyone should agree on it.

    On voting? I don't know, I guess we cannot set up polls unless we're mods right? In that case i`ll just randomly pair the bands together and you'd have to pm me. That means I'll need to start clearing up the private message folder.

    Oasis has got to be there, they can go far. Iron maiden could go far too but not here.

    I'm not sure if we should randomly put the bands together, it would be pretty sad if Metallica and Led Zeppelin were drawn together in the first round.

    I think we should post our votes in the forum, I don't trust you :p

    Here's why I think that Tool and especially The Pretenders should be there instead of Coldplay and Oasis.

    First Coldplay. Does two good albums make them worthy of being on this list?? It's not like The Sex Pistols, where they only made 1 album, but it shook the music world on its ear. Don't get me wrong, I like them a lot, I just don't know if they are one of the 30 best.

    Oasis. To me, these guys are a 1 trick pony, and personally, anyone (Liam and Noel Gallagher) who says that they are better thean the Beatles need to be taken out to a back alley and have their teeth kicked in through their nose.


    Now why the Pretenders??


    Seriously, is there any woman in rock in the last 25 years who has been as inspirational as Chrissie Hynde?? You NEED to have a group in there that has a woman, and this wouldn't be some token gesture in the case of The Pretenders.


    Tool, because they are my favorite band, and I won't talk to any of you anymore if they aren't on the list :p

    In all seriousness, they are a great group.

    True, Coldplay have made two good albums, but that's already two good albums more than say Tool, Rush or NiN :D But since you like Tool then yeah they should be in the list.

    For Oasis, it's unfair to judge them now when they have written just 5 albums whereas the Beatles have done 10 (?). If you really want to compare them, then just compare the first 5 albums of both bands and Oasis would win hands down ;) It's from their late albums that the beatles really showed their worth. That's why the gallagher brothers should be in the list + I got to shake Noel's hand so that's cool too :D
