    The Beatles are there.
    and rightly so :)

If we add other bands which are not rock bands we'd have to add crap like Christina Aguilera, Westlife, Linkin Park etc

We don't want that do we? :)

And if we add solo artists we'd have to add all the other 'greats' and it would just drago on and on.

OK, I'm looking at this list.

I see Green Day there, but I don't see The Clash or The Ramones.

And Glenn, Earth, Wind & Fire and Parliament Funkadelic are FAR from crap bands.

You, as a musician should know that.

Yeah, of course Clash and the Ramones should be there. I think we can have Punk bands in the competition, I'm a little negative towards pop and other bands in this competition.

One more thing: There should be a deadline to suggest bands, let say 9-10th of January so we can start the following monday.

I see what you're saying, but I don't consider EWF and P-funk as Pop, and no one else would, either.

But if not, then that's fine.

No it's not pop, I can't really tell what genre they are. But we should stick to rock bands. Clash and Green day might be punkbands but they are really close to rock. I'm open to discuss this though, anyway this was Zizous idea so I'd better shut up now.

Speaking of punk bands, we were gonna forget the ultimate punk band...The Sex Pistols!!! Instead of who?

Serge I never said those bands were crap did I? I said groups like Westlife, Spice Girls, Britney, Aguilera etc are...nothing to do with the serious bands.

Well most bands i would have thought of have been mentioned, except (i think)

    the doors
    the pixies
    stp
Wow, I didn't even know the doors weren't on the list.

    For shame, Gianluca.

The pixies, probably because they inspired so many bands in the late 80's early 90's.

Stone Temple Pilots?? Good group. Top 30 though, I'm not sure. I would put Rage Against the Machine in there in its place.

Serge - I only consider crap the pop manufactured puppets sell outs. I let you judge who is and who's not ;)

    And I am a freak - tell me something I don't know :D

venom - Yes Black Sabbath should be there.

All i can say is , if weiland ever stays out of rehab or prison long enough to put a decent tour togeather... go see them live.

    they give one helluva concert.

Personally i think they are better than ratm, though i like them both, but stp are definately a better live band...

stp were prob the second best group ive seen live behind pearl jam... vedder is amazing live (though im prob a bit biased as ive seen pj live some 25 or so times

    wheres soundgarden on the list??

I've seen Rage, Soundgarden, STP, and Pearl Jam live, and they were all excellent shows. Weiland has a Morrisson type of aura to him.

Do you agree when I say that I think Pearl Jam's best albums were Vs., Vitalogy, and Yield?

For some strange reason, everyone thinks that 10 is their best, just because it was their most commercially successful.
